Volume 1, Chapter 17: Has Mrs. He Committed Adultery During Her Marriage?
He Jingcheng’s expression was grim and unsightly. By noon, he had brought Su Mian and Shao Jie to the Crown Club, where, after some inquiries, they discovered that the person who had visited on Wednesday night was indeed Jiang Shuwei.
He Jingcheng wanted to review the surveillance footage, but his request was denied. Su Mian immediately bribed the staff member, and the trio successfully obtained a clip.
In the video, a horse of the Ferghana breed and a white horse were locked in a spirited chase on the racetrack. Both riders were giving their all, vying for the lead, and the scene possessed a striking sense of equestrian elegance. It was remarkably harmonious, appearing more like the playful pursuit of lovers.
"Brother Jingcheng, look. Jiang Shuwei really did meet Qin Weizhou. Not only that, they even went horse racing together. It looks as if they are quite close," Su Mian remarked, her words a mix of vent and jealousy. It was common knowledge that Qin Weizhou did not allow any woman within three meters of him, yet here was the proof. Jiang Shuwei, a married woman, was not only racing with him, but when they finished, they walked their horses forward with less than a meter between them.
He Jingcheng clenched his fists. He hadn't imagined that Jiang Shuwei would truly be so unfaithful. If he showed this video to his grandfather, the old man would surely be furious—perhaps even demanding they divorce immediately. However, He Jingcheng did not want to upset his grandfather, who had been hospitalized several times last year due to heart issues.
Shao Jie, watching from the side, shook his head repeatedly. Did Ms. Jiang have any concept of decorum for a married woman? How could she be racing here with another man late at night? Furthermore, it appeared that two other men were present: Qin Weizhou's close friends, Yan Feiye and Zhou Zirui. One woman and three men—if this got out, who could clear her name?
Su Mian immediately adopted an tone of indignation on He Jingcheng's behalf. "Brother Jingcheng, you haven't done a single thing to wrong her in three years of marriage, yet she, on the other hand, is practically trying to cuckold you?"
"The 'green hat' might not be on your head yet, Mr. He. You could ask Ms. Jiang to explain," Shao Jie interjected. Su Mian shot him a glare; why wasn't this fool on her side? The matter between Jiang Shuwei and Qin Weizhou was already a fact, proven by the video.
He Jingcheng’s brow furrowed with cold severity. For the sake of her pathetic little studio, Jiang Shuwei had the audacity to approach Qin Weizhou directly. He had truly underestimated her. "Do not spread word of this," He Jingcheng commanded, taking the video and offering a cold warning to Su Mian and Shao Jie.
Su Mian, feigning deep concern for his reputation, promised, "Don't worry, Brother Jingcheng. This concerns your reputation and the honor of the He family. I won't say a word."

Night fell over the Su family living room. Su Mian was throwing a tantrum over the loss of her office space. Her father tried to console her, "It's just an office, there's no need to be this upset."
"Dad, I can't accept this," Su Mian clenched her fists. "What right does she have to compete with me? I am the eldest daughter of the Su family. And her? She's just a weed clinging to the lives of others. Where does she get her confidence?"
"Don't forget, she is still Mrs. He," her father replied calmly. "Even if He Jingcheng doesn't acknowledge her status, they are legally married. Furthermore, Elder He and Mother He favor her. With their backing, Jiang Shuwei has every reason to be confident."
"This Jiang Shuwei isn't as simple and innocent as she appears; she’s just masked it well. She is actually a woman of great ambition and cunning. Dad, do you know? Behind Brother Jingcheng's back, she had a secret meeting with Qin Weizhou. For that alone, Brother Jingcheng will find her disgusting." Su Mian sat on the sofa, her face full of schadenfreude.
"She has a connection with Qin Weizhou?" Her father was surprised. "Isn't there a rumor that Qin Weizhou is allergic to women?"
"Who knows? Perhaps Jiang Shuwei has her own extraordinary methods," Su Mian said sourly. "Dad, hurry up and introduce me to Uncle Jiang. I've graduated, and I want him to be my mentor. If I can improve my reputation in the medical field, our biotech company will get more attention."
Her father agreed and nodded. "Fine, I'll arrange a dinner with Jiang Bo and suggest he take you on as his final student. Once you bear the title of his student, you will already be famous."
"Thank you, Dad. Once I have a name for myself, I will lead the company even further." Su Mian felt triumphant. She had her father's love, but what did Jiang Shuwei have? She was just a pathetic creature looking for scraps, thinking every day about how to parasitize the He family. It was nauseating to think about, and she truly hoped the He family would kick her out soon. When that time came, one word from Su Mian would be enough to destroy her studio.

Time flew, and the day arrived for Jiang Shuwei to submit her anatomical drawings. She had finished drafting the human structure diagrams at home—one frontal view and one side view. As she was applying the final touches, she suddenly heard a knock at the door. Who would be looking for her so early in the morning?
Jiang Shuwei washed her hands and opened the door, only to find He Jingcheng’s face. She was startled; he was a rare guest indeed. He Jingcheng’s expression was as dark as water, and upon seeing her, a flicker of disgust crossed his eyes, as if she were something filthy.
Jiang Shuwei stood by the door, making no move to invite him in. "It’s early, Mr. He. Do you need something?"
He Jingcheng disliked being forced to speak from the threshold; he found it disrespectful. He forcefully pushed past her arm to enter. Jiang Shuwei quickly extended her arm to block him. "This is my home, please do not force your way in."
A sneer of cold dominance flickered in He Jingcheng’s eyes. "And what if I do?"
Jiang Shuwei froze. In the next second, the man barged in, leaving her no room to refuse. It was then that she remembered, and she dashed toward the table, desperate to cover her drawing. But it was too late. The apartment was small—two rooms and a living hall—and her drawing lay exposed on the table, the male anatomical structure depicted in spectacular and eye-catching detail.
He Jingcheng caught sight of it instantly. His handsome face changed instantly. He walked over in a few strides, staring intensely, eventually fixing his gaze on the specific area Jiang Shuwei had meticulously rendered. For a married woman, drawing this shouldn't be shameful, but considering Jiang Shuwei had supposedly never formally seen a man’s anatomy, the fact that she had depicted the details so vividly—even showing the distinct purple veins—was shocking.
"Jiang Shuwei, what are you doing?" He Jingcheng barked in irritation. "What is this? Did you draw this? Do you have no sense of shame?"
As a medical student, why should drawing an anatomical chart be shameful? She crossed her arms over her chest and replied calmly, "I study medicine; I’ve seen this countless times. It’s hardly a mystery."
He Jingcheng was rendered speechless by her retort. His gaze swept over her face before landing back on the drawing, and he reached out to tear it up.
"If you dare touch it, try me," Jiang Shuwei yelled, her voice sharp with warning.
He Jingcheng’s hand stopped, stunned by her shout. He stared at her in disbelief; the woman’s voice had actually grown louder. Jiang Shuwei walked over, grabbed his arm, and pushed him away with all her might.
He Jingcheng looked down at his arm, held by her hand. This woman… had she gone crazy with longing for a man? She actually dared to lay hands on him.
