We did not speak for the rest of the journey. Shortly after, we found another upscale restaurant. We requested a private room; Ling Xuan ordered a vegetable dish, while I ordered beef and seafood.

Once the waiter left, Ling Xuan’s large eyes lingered on my face for a moment before she asked, "What, are you upset because I scolded you?"

"I’m not that petty, but the next time I see Liu Xiaofeng, I’m going to beat him to a pulp when you’re not around," I replied flatly, exhaling a puff of frustration.

Ling Xuan didn't say anything, though a faint hint of amusement seemed to flash in her eyes—not that I was in any mood to notice. To be honest, I felt quite stifled. The girl had inexplicably unleashed a tirade on me. If it were any other time, I might have let it slide, but Liu Xiaofeng was our adversary. He had just insulted her with the most hideous remarks, and instead of thanking me for standing up for her, she had vented her anger on me for no reason. It would be strange if I weren't annoyed.

After lunch, we drove straight back to the company. Halfway there, a sharp engine roar suddenly erupted behind us. Through the rearview mirror, I saw a red Ferrari 488 speeding toward us. I didn't pay it much mind until the Ferrari pulled up close, suddenly accelerated, zipped past my left side, and then swerved sharply into my lane, cutting directly in front of me.

An assassin!

My first reaction was that it was an assassin. I reached out, pressed Ling Xuan’s head down, and slammed on the brakes.

"What are you doing!" Ling Xuan struggled, but she was no match for my strength.

Just then, the Ferrari spun, performing a 180-degree drift to face us head-on, driving against traffic. It was past three in the afternoon, and the streets weren't particularly crowded. I jerked the steering wheel with one hand and floored the gas pedal. The car roared forward, crossing two lanes in under five meters.

Ling Xuan seemed to realize something was wrong; she stopped struggling and kept her head tucked low. Our BMW had plenty of power and rapid acceleration, so we shot past the Ferrari, putting dozens of meters between us in an instant. I let out a sigh of relief but didn't dare to ease up, keeping my foot firmly on the pedal.

At that moment, the engine roar behind us shrieked like a scream; the Ferrari had turned around and was chasing us like a rocket. I was slightly taken aback—this BMW was no match for a Ferrari! My mind raced, and a sudden thought struck me: Something was wrong. At such high speeds, the success rate for an assassin would be incredibly low; how could they make such a rookie mistake? And why hadn't they attacked when they first passed me?

If it wasn't an assassin, then who was it? With this doubt in mind, I eased off the accelerator. The Ferrari closed the distance instantly. I turned to look and saw the window rolled down, revealing a flawless, beautiful face with an elegant smile on her lips.

Sister Yuan!

Damn! It was her! She had scared the living daylights out of me. It seemed she had memorized the license plate of my BMW. I burst into a laugh and pointed to the side of the road. Sister Yuan understood and immediately pulled over. I followed and parked behind her Ferrari.

"It's alright, you can get up now," I said, patting Ling Xuan’s head, which she was still keeping low. Ling Xuan looked up, looking rather bewildered.

I stepped out of the car to see Sister Yuan already standing outside, leaning elegantly against the trunk. She was wearing a tight, black, hip-hugging dress that perfectly accentuated her exaggerated yet flawless curves. Her long, fair, and shapely legs were crossed in an elegant, alluring pose. She smiled at me and slowly produced a pack of ladies' cigarettes.

"Sister Yuan, you’re too mischievous. You nearly scared me to death!" I walked over and sat beside her.

Sister Yuan lit a cigarette and offered one to me. She stared at the BMW, smiling, "I haven't seen you for two days, and it turns out you already have a beautiful woman by your side."

Just then, Ling Xuan got out of the car. Seeing us, she paused, then walked over with a look of confusion.

"Come, let me introduce you both," I said, taking a puff of the cigarette. "This is my boss, Ling Xuan, Chairperson of Dongshan Group. And this is Sister Yuan, Han Jingyuan, owner of the Emperor Entertainment Club."

At these words, both Ling Xuan and Sister Yuan froze.

"The Emperor Entertainment Club?" Ling Xuan’s expression turned serious.

"Chairperson of Dongshan Group? Your boss?" Sister Yuan looked equally surprised.

The two beauties spent that moment scrutinizing each other. I had only learned Sister Yuan was the owner of the Emperor club while chatting on WeChat, but I hadn't thought much of it. Seeing Ling Xuan’s reaction, I realized the club must be quite famous and prestigious in Tianhe City.

"Hello," the two beauties said, shaking hands with a smile. Sister Yuan stood up straight. She then turned her gaze toward me, a meaningful smile playing on her lips.

I moved my eyes away, feeling awkward. "Sister Yuan, you really are free-spirited! You changed from a Porsche to a Ferrari."

Sister Yuan giggled. "That’s nothing worth mentioning in front of Chairperson Ling."

Ling Xuan quickly smiled back. "You're too modest, Chairperson Han. My small company can't compare to your Emperor club. I never expected the owner of the legendary Emperor club to be such a young and beautiful woman. I’m impressed! Compared to you, I’m the one who isn't worth mentioning."

I was secretly shocked. Was the Emperor club that big? Even Ling Xuan had to show such deference.

Sister Yuan was delighted. "Chairperson Ling, you wouldn't know, but I actually tried to poach your bodyguard once! He wouldn't budge, and I was wondering who had such charm. Seeing you today, I feel quite outclassed!"

Ling Xuan glanced at me with a smile in her eyes, looking quite satisfied, as if I had done her proud. She exchanged a few more polite remarks. Since it was their first meeting, there wasn't much of substance to discuss, so they spent quite a while exchanging compliments and feigning modesty.

Seeing they were nearly done, I interjected, "Sister Yuan, were you headed anywhere?"

Sister Yuan looked at me with a meaningful gaze. "I was bored and had no one to keep me company, so I was just out for a drive. I happened to spot the car you were driving last time and decided to chase after you."

She was clearly hinting at something. I smiled and said, "We have some business to attend to today, but I’ll definitely come visit you another time."

Ling Xuan quickly extended an invitation for her to visit the company, and Sister Yuan reciprocated. After making arrangements, we parted ways.

On the way back, Ling Xuan seemed quite happy, as if getting to know Sister Yuan was a stroke of luck.

"How do you know Chairperson Han?"

"I met her when I went back to my hometown the day before yesterday. I accidentally beat up her subordinates, and we became friends through the scuffle. Perhaps she admires my skills; she’s been quite kind to me."

Ling Xuan asked, surprised, "You’ve only known each other for two or three days? I thought you were old friends!"

I laughed, "Sister Yuan is very easygoing, so we got along quickly."

Ling Xuan mused, "I really didn't expect the owner of the Emperor club to be such a young and beautiful woman."

"By the way, is the Emperor club really that powerful? Is it bigger than our group?"

Ling Xuan gave me a strange look. "It’s not a matter of size. In terms of pure profit, they might not compare to us, but it is an absolute power. Many socialites and government officials have dealings with them. However, such clubs always have a shadow side, so their true influence is hard for outsiders to gauge. In the past, I wouldn't have wanted anything to do with them, but Chairperson Han seems like a decent person. If we can build a connection, it could be quite helpful to us."

I said confidently, "I think Sister Yuan would be very willing to befriend you."

"Why?"

"You’re both beauties and talented women; I’m sure you’ll cherish each other’s company." I smiled faintly.

I had been feeling stifled earlier, but after this little interlude with Sister Yuan, that irritation had completely vanished.

Back at the company, as soon as we entered the office, Huang Xiaohui began reporting on the morning's work. I was sitting on the sofa, bored, playing with my phone, when I suddenly received a WeChat message from Sister Yuan.

"Little brother, you’re not being very good! I was wondering why you wouldn't be my bodyguard—turns out you have such an excellent beauty by your side. Sigh, sister is so heartbroken! (Heartbreak) (Heartbreak) (Heartbreak)"

I chuckled and replied, "You’re an excellent beauty too, sister! (Hug) (Hug) (Hug)"

Sister Yuan immediately sent three blushing emojis and then added, "Have you conquered your boss yet?"

"What?"

"Have you managed to win her over?"

Pfft!

I was speechless. Sister Yuan was certainly direct! Seeing I didn't reply, she added, "Don't tell me you don't have any ulterior motives for staying by her side. Sister doesn't believe that!"

"I don't," I replied, hesitating before honestly admitting it.

"(Smiley face) (Smiley face) (Smiley face) Want sister to teach you a trick?"

"Sure!" My spirits were instantly lifted.

"Call me Master."

"Master."

"Call me Beautiful Master."

"Beautiful Master."

"Call me Beautiful Sister Master."

"Beautiful Sister Master."

Sister Yuan really loved to tease people!

"Haha, good boy! My method is simple: find a suitable opportunity and just carry her to bed."

Pfft!

I happened to be taking a sip of tea and sprayed it everywhere.
