Chapter 51: Secretly Becoming Your Girlfriend

Hearing Chen Yali’s harsh curses, my anger finally erupted. I forcefully pulled my hand back and slapped her hard.
Smack!
The crisp sound of the slap echoed throughout the shop. Chen Yali cried out in pain, staggered, spun halfway around, and crashed into a nearby clothing rack, toppling it over. Clothes spilled all over her.
Dong Kai’s laughter abruptly ceased. His face twisted with rage as he clenched his teeth and threw a punch at me.
I followed with another slap. Crack! Dong Kai spat out teeth and blood, spun around, and crashed through two or three more clothing racks, falling back several meters.
This slap was even harder than the first.
“Bufan,” Ling Xuan exclaimed anxiously, quickly grabbing my hand.
I smiled faintly. “Enough, Miss. I’m done.”
Ling Xuan breathed a sigh of relief and said nothing further. It was clear she was angry too, but as long as I didn’t go overboard, she was willing to let it slide.
Several female employees hurried over to help Dong Kai and Chen Yali up.
Dong Kai looked dazed, unable to react, relying heavily on the two women for support. Chen Yali was more alert, immediately baring her teeth and shouting, trying to rush forward to fight, but the staff held her back.
A cold sneer formed in my heart. Wasn’t this just humiliation they brought upon themselves? Given their status, being slapped in public was enough disgrace. Although I hadn’t hit them to my heart’s content, I was too lazy to argue further. I took Ling Xuan’s hand and said, “Let’s go. We’ll shop somewhere else.”
The incident wasn’t huge, just two slaps. No one in the store was going to call the police—they could only watch as I left with Ling Xuan in style.
As we reached the door, Dong Kai’s venomous voice rang out behind us: “Just you wait!”
My steps faltered and my expression darkened instantly.
Ling Xuan quickly squeezed my hand, urging, “Forget it. Don’t turn this into something irreparable.”
I took a deep breath, pulled Ling Xuan along, and strode out of the store. Around a corner outside, I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her.
Ling Xuan was still a bit stunned but didn’t resist. Soon, she responded awkwardly but sincerely.
Though the third floor had fewer customers than the first two, people still occasionally passed by us.
Ling Xuan closed her eyes tightly; I paid no mind. We kissed as if no one else existed.
After a moment, we parted. I smacked my lips with satisfaction and saw Ling Xuan’s cheeks flushed red, her eyes glistening with tenderness as she gazed at me.
By now, I understood Ling Xuan’s nature better: fierce when angry, but overwhelmingly gentle when soft.
“Bufan, why all of a sudden like this?” she asked.
I smiled. “You wouldn’t let me hit them, so you have to make it up to me somehow.”
Ling Xuan blinked, half amused and half helpless, rolling her eyes at me. She took my hand and softly scolded, “Is this compensation enough now?”

“All right, let’s go!”
We continued shopping, but Ling Xuan’s mood was clearly affected by Dong Kai and the others. After buying a few outfits, she pulled me downstairs.
At the mall entrance, we suddenly remembered Ling Xi. I called her, but she didn’t answer.
We walked while calling. After a few dozen meters, Ling Xi suddenly returned my call.
“Uncle, we’re at a barbecue stall at the end of the pedestrian street. Some bad guys want to bully us. Hurry over! Quickly!” Ling Xi spoke anxiously before hanging up.
Ling Xuan asked curiously, “What happened?”
“Xi Xi says she’s eating barbecue and there are some thugs threatening her. I have to go right now. You walk slower and wait in a nearby store.”
We had seen Dong Kai and his crew leave earlier. Though we didn’t know if they would return, even if they did, they wouldn’t find us so quickly. And I dealt with problems fast.
Ling Xuan immediately stepped into a women’s clothing store nearby, pretending to browse.
I ran along the pedestrian street. After a few hundred meters, it ended in a cluster of various food stalls. The air was thick with the aroma of snacks, and vendors had even set up tables outside.
I quickly scanned the area and soon spotted Ling Xi’s figure not far ahead.
She stood up at a small table, bravely shouting threats at a group of bald men. Her two classmates sat nearby, visibly frightened.
Seeing they weren’t physically harmed gave me some relief. I hurried over.
“Xi Xi.”
Ling Xi turned and ran to me, grasping my arm fiercely. “Uncle, someone’s bullying us!”
Ling Xuan wasn’t around, so Ling Xi didn’t call me “brother-in-law”—she clearly wasn’t willing to do that yet.
I smiled. “Don’t worry, Uncle’s here. Nothing will happen.”
“Yeah, I knew Uncle was the strongest!” Ling Xi relaxed and grinned, clutching my arm proudly and even wobbling a bit as she walked.
The three bald men totaled three. Two of them were seated at Ling Xi’s table, coldly eyeing me while offering drinks to Ling Xi’s classmates. The other stood, glaring fiercely.
Nearby tables were filled with diners who, seeing the burly, menacing bald men, dared not intervene.
I stepped beside the table, placed one foot on a stool, and said firmly to the two girls, “Come here!”
They nervously dashed behind me. The two seated bald men made no move to pull them back but glared at me with hatred.
“Kid, who the hell are you?” The standing bald man had a face full of scars, small beady eyes burning with hostility as he sized me up.
I turned to Ling Xi. “What do you want to do with them?”
“Do with them?” Ling Xi blinked, then grew excited. “Beat them up badly!”

Smack!
The two seated bald men slammed their wine glasses down and stood up angrily. “Damn it! Kid, you want to die? You know who we are?”
“I don’t give a damn who you are!” I suddenly roared and threw a punch at the standing man’s face. Bam! It landed squarely, and he fell backward.
At the same time, I kicked off the stool, leapt over the table with legs slightly apart, and aimed kicks at the other two.
One tried to grab my foot; the other tried to dodge. But my kicks were too swift and precise for these street thugs to catch or evade.
Bang! Bang! Both crashed down, each knocking over a chair.
I landed lightly, grabbed one by the collar, and with my signature move, hoisted him into the air single-handedly. I slapped him furiously seven or eight times, shouting, “Now tell me who the hell you are!”
The other one struggled up, swearing, “Kid, you’re dead meat!”
I dropped the battered bald man, swiftly turned, and swept the other’s lower leg with my right foot. He stumbled sideways.
Before he could fall, I grabbed his collar, lifted him single-handedly, and slapped him a dozen times in rapid succession. My movements were fluid and lightning-fast.
All the diners froze, and the snack stall owner stood horrified aside, too scared to intervene.
After the slaps, I dropped him and said coldly, “Now who’s dead meat?”
Of course, I didn’t knock them out—no need to complicate matters. After resting a bit, they could leave on their own.
No one else got involved; they had no choice but to accept defeat.
I turned back to see Ling Xi and her friends stunned.
Ling Xi quickly recovered and ran up to grab my arm, her face flushed with excitement. “Uncle, you’re seriously awesome!”
This girl had nerves of steel—she wasn’t afraid even after seeing me break someone’s hand last time.
The two girls looked at me with awe and reverence, not daring to speak.
“Let’s go. Your sister is still waiting,” I smiled gently.
“Wait, I haven’t paid yet.” Ling Xi hurried off to settle the bill.
Then the four of us walked back. Ling Xi affectionately held my arm, beaming with excitement, while the other two silently followed behind, enviously watching her.
After walking a while, I looked ahead and saw the lively scene with no unusual signs. I relaxed and turned to smile at Ling Xi. “You’d better let go soon. If your sister sees this, it won’t be good.”
Ling Xi pouted but held on tightly. She glanced at the two girls behind her, hesitated for a moment, then leaned close and whispered, “Uncle, can I secretly be your girlfriend? Just don’t let my sister know.”
