Chapter 25: You Have No Right to Speak Here
The violent impact immediately startled everyone in the vicinity.
"Ah! An earthquake!"
"Run!"
Most people assumed an earthquake had struck and scrambled out of the buildings.
In the pool hall and internet cafe where the incident occurred, Xu Yi had unleashed a punch that kicked up a massive cloud of dust, perfectly masking his movements. Without pausing, he threw consecutive punches, widening the hole in the wall. Within two breaths, he had created an opening large enough for a person to pass through.
Xu Yi flashed through the opening and stepped into the pool hall. It was in total disarray.
"Damn it! What is going on? Cough, cough—"
Zhang Feng cursed loudly. Having been closest to the wall, he was covered in dust and grime. His eyes were stinging, unable to open, and he was absolutely livid.
The visibility in the pool hall was poor, but Xu Yi, having activated his [X-Ray Vision], was completely unaffected. He locked onto Zhang Feng, lunged forward, grabbed his hair, and yanked hard!
"Ah!"
Zhang Feng let out a pained scream. Just as he was about to curse the blind fool who dared to pull his hair, Xu Yi’s hand clamped onto his throat, choking off the words. Zhang Feng’s eyes bulged, and his body began to thrash violently.
"Don't move if you want to live!"
The chilling warning, accompanied by intense killing intent, frozen Zhang Feng in his tracks. Xu Yi dragged him toward Huang Dabao. As Xu Yi untied Huang Dabao, the dust began to settle, and several thugs rushed into the office. Only then did they notice that Xu Yi had taken Zhang Feng hostage.
"Fuck! Kid, let Boss Feng go!" a thug holding a machete shouted, stepping forward.
"Stay back! If you don't want him to die, back off!" Xu Yi said coldly.
He then released Zhang Feng's throat, twisted his arm, and snapped the bone.
"Ah!"
Zhang Feng’s shrill scream left the thugs stunned in their tracks. Xu Yi’s decisive and ruthless methods left them looking at one another, afraid to advance or retreat. Seeing this, Zhang Feng, enduring the agony, roared, "Back off! Do you want me to die? Back the hell off!"
Hearing the order, the thugs slowly retreated. Zhang Feng then whispered cautiously, "My friend, let's talk this out. We have no grudge against each other; why make things like this?"
"How about this? I can give you whatever you want! Money? Women? Just name it! My uncle is the second-in-command of the East Sea Gang; you can trust my word!"
"Shut up! You have no say here!" Xu Yi replied coldly.
He then looked toward the young martial arts expert who had remained motionless. "Don't be impatient. Once I finish my business here, I will naturally spar with you."
"Oh? You actually know what I'm thinking?" The young expert looked at Xu Yi with a hint of surprise.
He didn't realize that Xu Yi had activated his [Mind Reading] ability while eavesdropping from the internet cafe next door, and thus knew exactly what was on his mind. What surprised Xu Yi himself was that through [Mind Reading], he learned the young man's motives were different from Zhang Feng's. Zhang Feng only wanted to extract information from Huang Dabao. The young expert and his two companions, however, had been sent by "The Madman" specifically to deal with Xu Yi. Of course, The Madman hadn't known who Xu Yi was beforehand; he only knew that a formidable expert was suspected to be backing Huang Dabao. The Madman had instructed the young expert to intercept anyone who came to rescue Huang Dabao. As for why, the young man’s inner thoughts didn't reveal it—evidently, even he didn't know the reason.
Xu Yi ignored the young expert for a moment and turned to Huang Dabao, who was struggling to untie himself. "Are you alright? Can you stand?"
Huang Dabao stood up with difficulty, shook his head, and rasped, "Brother Yi, I'm fine, but Xiao Wu and the others were swarmed by them. I don't know if they're okay..."
Xiao Wu was one of Huang Dabao's six core subordinates. Five had been captured and were tied up in the pool hall. Xu Yi spotted them instantly with his X-Ray Vision. "Don't worry, they are fine."
Xu Yi squeezed Zhang Feng’s arm again, causing him to howl in pain. "If you want to live, do exactly as I say. Understand?"
Zhang Feng, unable to speak through the pain, could only nod.
Xu Yi said in a low voice, "Tell your men to disperse and release all of Dabao's brothers you've captured." He then turned to Huang Dabao. "Call Liangzi. Tell him to drive over. You guys leave first."
Huang Dabao nodded without a word, knowing he would only be a burden if he stayed.
Xu Yi squeezed Zhang Feng’s arm again and hissed, "Did you not hear me? Give the order!"
Zhang Feng felt he was having the worst luck imaginable. He was nearly fainting from the pain and had no strength to speak, but he dared not hesitate. He roared into the pool hall, "Are you all deaf? Do you want me to die? Do as he says!"
The thugs looked between the young expert and Zhang Feng. Seeing that the expert made no move to intervene, they all backed out. Huang Dabao finished his call, nodded at Xu Yi, and prepared to leave.
The three experts stepped forward, blocking their path. "The others can go, but he cannot," the young expert said calmly.
"Fuck!"
Before Xu Yi could get angry, Zhang Feng snapped, roaring at the expert, "Damn it! What do you mean? Do you want me to die? Get out of the way! Let them go!"
The young expert sighed helplessly, looking relaxed. "What does your life have to do with me? The boss ordered me to keep these two, so not one of them is leaving." He smiled, a hint of excitement in his eyes. "If you want to leave, it’s simple: beat me, and you can go."
Zhang Feng was furious, feeling that the expert was intentionally targeting him and showing him no respect. Huang Dabao looked at Xu Yi, who shook his head with a grim expression. Xu Yi had heard the expert's thoughts and knew the man was serious.
"Let Dabao and his men leave," Xu Yi said. "We’ll go somewhere else."
The young man shrugged indifferently.
"I... can I go now?" a woman hiding in the corner asked in a small voice. She stared at Xu Yi with hopeful eyes, smart enough to know her only chance lay with him.
Xu Yi glanced at her. "Oh?" A familiar face, though she didn't seem to recognize him. But this was no time for reunions. "Let her go, too," he said.
Huang Dabao nodded to the woman. "Go! Go!"
Five minutes later, Liangzi arrived to escort the brothers and the woman away. Only Xu Yi and Huang Dabao remained. The two groups walked out of the office into the pool hall, and Xu Yi kicked Zhang Feng toward his own men.
Zhang Feng stumbled back to his camp and immediately turned to see who had dared to hold him hostage. At first glance, he recognized the man who had humiliated him at the 4S dealership! Old grudges and new ones combined, and fury flooded Zhang Feng's mind.
"Fuck! It’s you! Damn it! I haven't even settled the score with you, and you come knocking on my door yourself!"
"Damn it! Do you think the East Sea Gang doesn't exist? If you walk out of here alive today, I'll write my name backward!"
"Cut him down!" Zhang Feng ordered in a rage.
The young expert spoke up slowly, "You have no authority to speak here. And the rest of you—get out!"
