Chapter 31: Immortal Dream
With a sharp "bang," Su Mingyu slammed his fist into the black circular mirror floating before Li Fengyin’s palm. However, not even a ripple appeared. The defensive power of the Void Mirror Technique was astonishingly strong!
Li Fengyin felt a surge of confidence, but before he could make his next move, Su Mingyu had already retracted his fist, stepped to the side, and struck again. As the Void Mirror Technique dissipated, Li Fengyin tilted his head, and the force of the punch whistled past him. However, because Li Fengyin’s right arm had not yet fully recovered, it became his most vulnerable opening.
Su Mingyu retracted his fist, closed the distance with a half-step, and drove his left elbow toward Li Fengyin’s neck. Li Fengyin’s left palm blocked the path of the elbow. Naturally, he could not withstand the blow with his bare hand, so he whispered into the air: "Void Mirror Technique!"
A circular black mirror, about half a meter in diameter, appeared beside him, and Su Mingyu struck it once more. Li Fengyin seized the opportunity to regain his stance, while Su Mingyu instantly retreated three meters away. He clenched his right fist and then opened it, seemingly contemplating how to break through Li Fengyin’s technique. In reality, Li Fengyin could only manifest the Void Mirror between his palms, and could only use the technique with one hand at a time, but fortunately, Su Mingyu was unaware of this.
When one lacks information about an opponent, it is easy to falter. Su Mingyu decided to probe the strengths and weaknesses of the technique. He flashed in front of Li Fengyin again, and as Su Mingyu expected, the opponent raised his right hand. However, Su Mingyu suddenly changed direction; the moment the Void Mirror Technique was cast, he arrived at Li Fengyin’s side and delivered a kick!
To Su Mingyu’s surprise, in that very instant, Li Fengyin dispelled the Void Mirror before his right palm, and his left hand, which had been held at his side, suddenly opened. The Void Mirror Technique appeared again, blocking the kick. Su Mingyu realized he could not retract his left leg, so he instead increased its speed and force!
*Bang!*
Su Mingyu was not knocked back by the impact; instead, the black mirror in Li Fengyin’s hand pushed Li Fengyin sliding backward. Su Mingyu curled his lips into a smile: "It must be released from the palm, and only one mirror can exist at a time, right?"
In truth, neither of them had been injured thus far.
...
Pang Wei had not slept well for several days. With his good friend nearby today, he finally felt at ease enough to drift into a dream. In his dream, evil spirits beset him. In such a nightmare, Pang Wei found himself almost powerless to resist, the sheer terror paralyzing him.
"Divine Purgatory, Demonic Martial Death Scythe."
The little ghosts repeated these eight words in his mind, adding, "You must die tonight!"
Despite the convulsions of his nightmare, Pang Wei recalled what Li Fengyin had told him: as long as his body continued to function normally in reality, he would not die! In an instant, the surrounding threats and the feeling of dread vanished without a trace, though he still could not open his eyes.
Within the dream, Pang Wei heard three words: "You have passed!"
The next moment, in the lake of his heart, a black scythe floated in the air. Its form was terrifying, yet it carried a faint, holy aura—though it was the holiness of evil. Pang Wei walked forward, step by step. Beneath his feet lay the water, yet he did not sink; instead, he felt a summons in his heart, a need to master this scythe! With every step, his heart trembled, but he did not stop.
At the moment his terror reached its peak, Pang Wei grabbed the handle of the scythe.
...
His pupils turned blood-red as Pang Wei opened his eyes, returning to reality. In his hand, he held a scythe, and he could feel immense power surging within his body. It seemed he had acquired incredible strength!
On the balcony, Li Fengyin was still clashing with Su Mingyu. Constantly summoning the Void Mirror and defending time and again, while Su Mingyu attacked relentlessly and Li Fengyin dodged, the two were temporarily at a stalemate. However, Li Fengyin could sense that Su Mingyu was not using his full strength.
When Pang Wei appeared outside the glass door with the massive scythe slung over his shoulder, both men tacitly stopped. Seeing Pang Wei’s new look, Li Fengyin felt a bit speechless: "What did you trigger? Even your style has changed."
At that moment, Li Fengyin realized that the world might be different from his previous understanding. Yet, thinking of those legendary existences and the figures from mythology, and realizing that those extraordinary things were real, he felt a mix of surrealism and anticipation.
"I accept your test."
Pang Wei’s voice had grown a bit raspy. Su Mingyu, in a great mood, produced a silver dagger.
[Immortal Dream]
"Li Fengyin," Su Mingyu said gently, "you have overstepped."
Only then did Li Fengyin realize his mistake and replied, "My apologies." He retreated to the edge of the balcony, watching the two of them, subconsciously hoping to learn some techniques from Su Mingyu.
...
The scene shifted. Shen Liangxin had learned something through quantum entanglement; the two minds were now synchronized.
"Regarding the calculation of the future, the ending seems to be unique."
Watching the series of data, Shen Liangxin murmured to himself: "When the universe is unified, when everything is unified, only one path remains: to resolve all the contradictions and injustices of the past and present for all existence, ultimately reaching a state of supreme beauty."
"Is the starting point the Underworld, and the destination the Spirit Realm?"
Shen Liangxin obtained the temporal data: "This journey may take hundreds of millions of years!"
[No Injustice, Eternal Peace Throughout the Ages]
Suddenly recalling this signature from Li Fengyin’s instant messenger, Shen Liangxin curled his lips: "Ten years of continuous contemplation—there must be many treasures hidden there."
These so-called treasures were actually forms of knowledge. One had to admit, the ability to know everything simply through thought, and to gain vast amounts of knowledge and intelligence, felt somewhat unreal. After all, this was a business without capital.
However, Shen Liangxin suddenly thought of something: the First Law of Thermodynamics. Everything is subject to entropy; the degree of chaos only increases. For example, if a room reaches a state of order, it requires the consumption of order elsewhere. In short, entropy is always increasing.
If so, wouldn't such a "capital-less" business no longer follow the increase of entropy? Could it even reach the point of fostering order?
"Exactly!"
Shen Liangxin whispered: "The 'multiplication increase' that opposes entropy is, by nature, a business without capital!"
Without realizing it, it was already past three in the morning. By the ancient method of keeping time, it was nearly the fifth watch. In the research lab, Shen Liangxin was calculating feverishly. The quantum computer’s deductions about the past and future were becoming more accurate. But the past was fixed, having already occurred, while the future had not yet happened and held a vast number of possibilities.
As long as the parameters were sufficient, the future could be deduced!
The legendary ability to foresee the future was nothing more than this!
