The Holy Angel Beast first gave Taiichi, whose education was only at an elementary level, a basic lesson on what parallel worlds are.

Fortunately, although Taiichi wasn’t exactly a prodigy, he possessed the ability to independently record, study Digimon data, and compile a digital encyclopedia. He quickly grasped the general concept of parallel worlds.

In simple terms, there isn’t just one Digital World—multiple ones exist simultaneously.

Each Digital World connects to a different human world, and the Digital World linked to Taiichi’s world is the one where the Holy Angel Beast (in its cleric form) resides.

Originally, it was a world where Digimon lived in peace, but that peace was shattered by the appearance of a mutant.

An Ultimate Digimon called the Ultimate Demon Beast launched a war to conquer the world. It possessed the strongest combat power in the Digital World, and on top of that, it found an egg of an Ultra Ultimate level.

Listening to this story, which felt distant and almost incomprehensible to Taiichi at the moment, he roughly guessed what his original mission was.

Sure enough, the Holy Angel Beast’s next words did not surprise him: “Once the Ultra Ultimate hatches, our world will be doomed. I must stop this at all costs, but the Ultimate Demon Beast’s power far surpasses ours. I have no choice but to place my hope in an unknown Digimon, one even I have never seen.” The Holy Angel Beast looked at Taiichi: “And the tamer who can fully unleash its power.”

“But the Ultimate Demon Beast saw through my plan and disrupted my summoning ritual, which caused you to arrive in the wrong Digital World.”

The Holy Angel Beast bowed deeply to Taiichi: “I am truly sorry. I know my actions have caused you great trouble. If you wish, I can send you back to your own world immediately, but I still hope you will listen to my request. Please, for me and for our world, defeat the Ultimate Demon Beast!”

Seeing the Holy Angel Beast’s wings’ roots fully exposed before him, Taiichi sighed: “You’ve said it all already. How can I blame you now?”

The Holy Angel Beast stared at Taiichi in surprise: “You mean you agree?”

Taiichi nodded straightforwardly: “But the Digital World I’m currently in is also facing destruction by dark forces. I can’t just ignore it.”

“That’s okay. Time flows independently between Digital Worlds. Right now, I’m only a fragment of my true self. No matter how long you stay here, I can take you back directly to the moment you left your world, so there’s no need to worry about time!”

“Parallel worlds really are convenient,” Taiichi mused, feeling a bit relieved. Now he didn’t have to worry about his mother getting angry.

Relaxed, Taiichi felt as if a great weight had been lifted from his bones.

After agreeing with the Holy Angel Beast to return once the crisis in this world was resolved, Taiichi watched his body slowly fade away. Suddenly, he thought of something:

“By the way, since I’m in a parallel world, does that mean there’s another me in the human world connected to this place?”

“Yes,” the Holy Angel Beast nodded.

“Wow... I actually have multiple versions of myself. That’s a strange feeling,” Taiichi said with curiosity. “Are they exactly like me?”

The Holy Angel Beast replied, “You all look almost identical. If I had to point out a difference… the version of you in this world has a younger sister.”

“Huh?”

Taiichi felt like he had lost.

Just as he was about to ask more, he suddenly found himself back on Farui Island.

Everything that had just happened took place only in Taiichi’s mind. To the outside world, he had merely been momentarily distracted.

Unicornmon suddenly became extremely alert: “Taiichi, be careful! The dark power is erupting!”

Before he finished speaking, the entire Farui Island began to fracture and split apart.

Countless black gears burst forth from the ground. Taiichi realized the entire area beneath the island was filled with these black gears.

These black gears were originally set by the Demon Beast to scatter the summoned children and defeat them one by one. Their function was to divide Farui Island into many smaller islands.

But since Taiichi was the only child who arrived, the gears were useless. So the Demon Beast absorbed them to increase its own power.

Like a bottomless pit, it devoured all the black gears.

The sun that had just risen was shrouded by black mist, plunging Farui Island back into darkness. Black and red lightning continuously struck down from Infinite Mountain.

“That Demon Beast… it’s corrupted Farui Island to this extent?” Even the mature Digimon were horrified by the Demon Beast’s actions.

Looking again at the summit of Infinite Mountain, a pair of demonic wings hundreds of meters long spread out before Taiichi.

“Could that be the Demon Beast?” Centarumon screamed in terror.

Taiichi looked sternly at the mountain peak: “It seems this guy has absorbed all the black gears on the island.”

As if to confirm his words, a towering figure taller than Infinite Mountain rose behind the peak. Dark energy that could be seen with the naked eye swirled around him, and his expression was maddened beyond measure.

“Ta... Taiichi.”

A weak voice came from the forest—it was Leomon.

He was covered in terrible wounds, staggering as if on the verge of death.

“Leomon!”

Taiichi hurried over and immediately used his Digivice’s healing function.

A green light symbolizing life force enveloped Leomon, and his wounds visibly began to close at a remarkable speed.

After the healing, Leomon still looked full of regret.

“I’m sorry, Taiichi. Ogremon was taken by the Demon Beast.”

It turned out that shortly after parting from Taiichi, Ogremon woke up and immediately struggled violently when he found himself lying on the back of his enemy, Leomon.

After falling to the ground, he relentlessly confronted Leomon near Infinite Mountain.

Ogremon’s strength was roughly equal to Leomon’s, so their battle inevitably caused a huge disturbance, just as Ogremon had anticipated, drawing the attention of the Demon Beast.

The Demon Beast defeated both Leomon and Ogremon. When Leomon thought he would be controlled by darkness again, the Demon Beast ignored him completely and instead grabbed Ogremon, taking him back to the summit of Infinite Mountain.

Back to the present, the Demon Beast looked down at Ogremon, who was now no bigger than a fingernail kneeling on his palm, begging desperately: “Please, Lord Demon Beast, don’t kill me! I beg you!”

A sinister smile curled on the Demon Beast’s lips: “Don’t worry. I’m not going to kill you.”

Seeing hope flash across Ogremon’s face, the Demon Beast continued: “I will let you live... in the form of a part of my body, living forever!”

Watching Ogremon’s expression shift from joy to shock, then hysteria, and finally despair was immensely entertaining to the Demon Beast.

The time had come.

Feeling his body filled with the power of the black gears, the Demon Beast exerted force and absorbed Ogremon’s data into himself.

In an instant, the Demon Beast’s power began to surge beyond limits—exploding, increasing, growing stronger and stronger!

He was now fifty times stronger than the original Demon Beast!

“Perfect! Ogremon’s data fits me perfectly! If I had known absorbing his data would make me this strong, I wouldn’t have wasted time on this island. Now, I alone can conquer the Sandbar Continent! Hahaha! I’m so high on power right now!”

The earth-shattering black energy caused massive waves on the sea beyond the island, drenching Taiichi with seawater like a torrential storm.

Taiichi stared intently at the shadow on the mountain peak, which was shrinking in size but growing ever more imposing in aura.

Finally, a voice rang out that every living being on Farui Island could hear:

“Demon Beast, evolve!”
