Fourteen Years Old (Twelve)
“Just kidding, really. Chuuya just doesn’t get the vibe,” Osamu Dazai stuck out his tongue, resembling a sleek black-furred cat. “But then again, Chuuya is basically a slug—a slimy, disgusting little slug. It’s understandable he doesn’t grasp human social etiquette.”
He said this as he held up his hand and gestured, “A slug’s brain is only about this big.”
Veins bulged on Nakahara Chuuya’s temple. “Dazai—! I swear I’ll kill you!”
But Dazai completely ignored Chuuya. “I’m not joking, Utage. I really want you to keep this.”
“After all, it’s a pretty useful ability. You can hide in it when in danger, or send enemies inside it—it can buy you some time.”
He raised his hand and ruffled Utage’s carefully styled hair, which she had prepared for the stage, leaving it tousled. A mischievous smile spread across his face.
Utage: “...Hey, who told you to touch my head?”
She slapped Dazai’s hand away.
Even though he was older, Utage’s pride meant this was a provocation!
Only her beloved brother, Kito Tsukuyomi, could behave this way toward her... Ah, and now perhaps Osaku Oda could be added to that short list.
In Utage’s heart, while Osaku did not yet match the status of her biological brother Kito Tsukuyomi, he held a distinctly special place—one no one else could approach.
“Ugh, Utage-chan, you’re so cold,” Dazai said mockingly, feigning tears with a teasing tone and expression. Utage merely looked at him with cold indifference.
Meanwhile, Nakahara Chuuya leapt up and struck Dazai hard, as if wishing to pound this troublemaker straight to the earth’s core.
“Anyway, consider that a trophy,” Dazai said with a cold, Mafioso smile that held no warmth.
“As for the rest, don’t worry. I’ll handle it all.”
“Utage-chan, you just focus on shining bright on the stage and singing.”

The following days at the music festival passed without incident. The large Oda family—all six children—enjoyed a thoroughly pleasant experience.
Only poor Dazai was forcibly taken back to Yokohama for work by Nakahara Chuuya after the first day’s end, an event that brought sorrow to those who witnessed it.
“You owe me compensation! You absolutely must compensate me!” Dazai threw himself on the ground, rolling in a tantrum. “I want to be the first to hear Utage’s next song! Osaku Oda, you have to buy me a drink!”
What else could be done but to spoil him like a child?
Both Osaku Oda and Utage agreed to Dazai’s demands.

As for that ability user, they were also brought back... but falling into the hands of the Port Mafia’s mind controller was perhaps a fate more terrifying than death.
The remaining days were peaceful. Besides attending school, Utage’s work as an artist proceeded in an orderly fashion.
According to her manager, the next focus was preparing for a new single... Ryosuke Nanami clearly had a definite plan and ambition for Utage, determined to make this already sparkling diamond shine with a brilliance capable of stunning the worldI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
