It was nearly noon. Shen Mengxia had not yet replied to her message, and Wen Jiu guessed she must be having lunch.

After sending a message to Gu Zehuai, he replied almost immediately.

[Would you like to come to the office and have lunch together?]

Wen Jiu thought that since he had already granted her a day off, she might as well go see him.

Gu Zehuai did not let Wen Jiu drive herself; instead, he sent a chauffeur for her. Wen Jiu had never seen Gu Zehuai use a driver before. When she had asked about it previously, he explained that since the office was close to home, he enjoyed driving himself. Thus, she had always seen him behind the wheel.

Once she got into the car, the driver respectfully addressed her as "Young Madam." Wen Jiu nodded, accepting the title.

Upon arriving at the company, the receptionist recognized her immediately. Wen Jiu greeted her and headed straight upstairs. One of the receptionists, with sharp eyes, caught sight of the ring on Wen Jiu’s left middle finger and, in her excitement, posted directly into the employee group chat.

[Ahhhhh, this lady must be President Gu’s fiancée! I saw the ring on her finger!]

Chen Yi, who usually lurked in the chat, did not pretend not to see the notification this time. Instead, he sought guidance from Gu Zehuai.

"President Gu, everyone in the group chat is talking about you and Ms. Wen Jiu. They are tagging me like crazy—am I allowed to speak?"

Chen Yi was unsure of Gu Zehuai’s stance on keeping their relationship private, so he did not dare to post rashly. Gu Zehuai, intrigued, asked Chen Yi to show him the chat history. After confirming that there was nothing inappropriate in the messages, Chen Yi handed his phone over.

Gu Zehuai read through the messages carefully. He didn't say a word, but as he watched the employees praise how well-matched he and Wen Jiu were, the corners of his mouth curled upward uncontrollably. He didn't even mind that his staff were slacking off during work hours.

After reading for a moment, he felt a sudden impulse. He handed the phone back to Chen Yi and told him, "It’s fine, tell the truth. Also, add me to the group."

Chen Yi assumed Gu Zehuai wanted to monitor the employees, but seeing that he didn't seem angry—and knowing it was nearly lunch break—he replied to the group and added Gu Zehuai to the chat.

Just then, Wen Jiu knocked on the office door.

As she entered, Chen Yi greeted her, and she nodded back. Fearing he might be in the way, Chen Yi gestured to Gu Zehuai and slipped out of the office.

No sooner had he stepped out than his private messages were bombarded.

[Special Assistant Chen, why did you add President Gu to the group? I’m terrified.]

[Ahhhhh, why is President Gu in the group?]

Unable to fathom Gu Zehuai’s motive, Chen Yi could only honestly recount Gu Zehuai’s reaction.

Inside the office, Wen Jiu noticed Gu Zehuai still smiling and asked, "What happened? You look so happy."

Gu Zehuai shared the compliments from the employees with her, a hint of pride in his eyes. Wen Jiu was amused by his childish demeanor.

Gu Zehuai checked the group chat and noticed that once he had joined, no one dared to post anything. He typed directly into the group: "Since you guessed so accurately, it seems you all have a good eye."

He then sent a sticker of a character spinning around in joy—a sticker he had saved from Wen Jiu’s own collection.

After he sent it, employees began posting well-wishes one after another. Gu Zehuai promptly sent twenty red envelopes into the group, each containing tens of thousands of yuan.

Wen Jiu watched him from the side, feeling as though she could almost see a tail wagging behind him. He was so happy just because of some compliments? Well, she had to admit, she was quite happy too.

The group chat remained silent for a few seconds before the red envelopes were snatched up one by one. Half a minute later, the chat exploded.

[Thank you, President Gu!!! Wishing you and your girlfriend a long and happy life together!]

With the first employee breaking the ice, the rest followed with a stream of blessings. Some employees, feeling regretful about missing the red envelopes, posted "I missed out on a hundred million" stickers. Seeing this, Gu Zehuai waved his hand and sent out several more rounds of red envelopes.

By the end, the chat had reached hundreds, if not thousands, of messages. Yet, Gu Zehuai scrolled all the way back to the top to reply to the first employee who had sent their well-wishes.

[Thank you for the blessings, but she is not my girlfriend—she is my fiancée now. :D]
