Chapter 73: The Proud Little Princess

Shen Mengxia knew exactly who Wen Jiu was referring to. Thinking about him brought a strange feeling to her heart.

Wen Jiu answered honestly, "It's pretty good."
Shen Mengxia thought Wen Jiu's innocent little expression was adorable and continued, "I mean in that way." With that, she gave Wen Jiu a teasing look.
Wen Jiu immediately caught on, and the image of Gu Zehuai breathing heavily as he looked at her flashed through her mind. Her face turned red as she feigned ignorance, "What are you talking about? I don't know."
Seeing Wen Jiu's reaction, Shen Mengxia knew she was embarrassed and stopped teasing her, instead quietly reminding her, "Alright, Jiu Jiu, I won't tease you. When you're in a relationship, it's normal for things to get heated sometimes, but remember to take precautions."
Wen Jiu's face grew even redder. She had sensed Gu Zehuai's reactions before, but his upright and composed demeanor had kept her from thinking in that direction. Now, looking back, she realized she had been too innocent.
Watching Wen Jiu lost in thought, Shen Mengxia simply smiled.
After finishing their coffee, the two left the café and headed to a nearby mall for some shopping.
Though winter hadn't arrived yet, they already bought a lot of winter clothes while strolling around.
When they entered a coat shop, Shen Mengxia's sharp eyes caught sight of a familiar face inside.
That person had also noticed them and walked over. Wen Jiu recognized her—it was Yu Keyan.
Looking at Wen Jiu, Yu Keyan remembered the dress Wen Jiu had picked out for her last time, which had earned her several compliments at the banquet.
Yu Keyan greeted Wen Jiu somewhat awkwardly, "Hi, what a coincidence."

Wen Jiu replied with a smile, "Yes, what a coincidence."
She could tell this little princess wanted to say hello but couldn't quite bring herself to do it, so stubborn and proud.
Shen Mengxia was astonished at the scene. Since when did these two get along so well? Every time they met, wasn’t there always tension? Of course, most of the time, it was Yu Keyan who treated Wen Jiu as her imaginary rival.
After Wen Jiu replied, Yu Keyan, for once, didn't retort. She simply went back to picking out clothes.
Shen Mengxia found Yu Keyan's attitude unusual and, after leaving the store, pestered Wen Jiu to find out what had happened.
Wen Jiu told her about picking out the dress for Yu Keyan last time, and Shen Mengxia finally understood, "That little princess is quite the proud one."
"It's not like we didn't know that already."
"True," Shen Mengxia agreed.
