After the battle ended, Wu Jue and Xun’er reunited, both astonished and delighted. The joy stemmed from Ter's return, while the shock came from witnessing the ever-increasing power of their enemies from the Tianzhu clan. Several alien companions had perished along the way. Now, apart from Wu Jue’s group of three, only Luke, Pike, and Meowpu from the Feline Planet remained, along with several injured Canine Planet warriors.

They gathered briefly, discussing the current situation and tending to the wounded canines, while Wu Jue recounted to Ter what had transpired before their reunion. Upon learning that Ter had only been resurrected after enduring Sel’s trial, Wu Jue’s opinion of the stubborn Sel shifted somewhat.

He asked Ter about his plans—would he stay and fight alongside them? Xun’er chimed in, “Yes, Ter, stay with us. If Xiao Han and the others knew you were alive, they’d be overjoyed.”

Ter replied calmly, “My mission is to safeguard the Milky Way. Earth is my first battleground, which means I’ll be stationed here for quite some time.” His words were rigid, but they amounted to a promise. Wu Jue smiled, “That’s good. We’ll have more time to work together.”

“What are your plans now?” Ter glanced at the ruined city and the unfortunate Rossi. “Will you move on to the next city, or stay to clear out this area?”

Wu Jue pondered for a moment. “I suspect Gumu’s arrival had another purpose. We need to interrogate Rossi further.”

Xun’er enthusiastically volunteered, “Leave that to me. I’ll use sorcery to force Rossi to speak the truth.”

She was busy treating the canine warriors but was eager to take on another task. One of the canines protested, “Hey, Xun’er, at least check our condition first. We’re about to die. Can’t you save our lives before you go off?”

Xun’er laughed, “Sorry, I got carried away! But it’s not entirely my fault. You’re supposed to be invincible canines; how could you get hurt so easily? Look at Meowpu—he’s doing just fine. Why can’t you keep up?”

Her words nearly made the three canines roll their eyes. Faced with such a stubborn and impudent little girl, they could only swallow their frustration.

Ter smiled, “Leave it to me. With the power of my Divine Mirror, the thoughts of these zombies will be laid bare.”

He took over, beginning to sweep the battlefield, scanning the remains of the fallen zombies and the fragments left behind by Gumu, slowly reconstructing the hidden information within the Tianzhu clan’s virus.

Soon, he reached a conclusion: their goal was to occupy this city and recruit the surrendered Rossi, who had made a startling discovery in the laboratory—a method to open the legendary Divine Treasure’s entrance.

Rossi, after arriving at the national laboratory, not only regained his extraordinary intelligence but also obtained research data on the Divine Treasure. From this, he deduced a major secret within the Mausoleum of the First Emperor.

The most remarkable feature of the mausoleum is the lifelike terracotta warriors, a world wonder. Yet, what had gone unnoticed was the presence of a unique bacterium within the clay figures, forming an exceptional protective layer that preserved them for centuries.

The laboratory boldly speculated that deep within the mausoleum lies a special, as yet undiscovered viral strain, capable of repelling tomb raiders and maintaining the mausoleum’s internal structure for eternity.

The Tianzhu clan had already collected several items needed to unlock the Divine Treasure on Earth. To enter the mausoleum, they required Rossi’s help, which explained why Gumu had brought his army to receive him.

Upon learning this, Wu Jue felt even more disdain for Rossi. He sneered at the weakened man on the ground, “Rossi, is this your so-called survival tactic? You mutated yourself, and now you’re abandoning your origins?”

Rossi replied feebly, “So what if I betrayed my country? Would you accept a monster like me? Wu Jue, don’t think you can play savior. One day, when the chaos ends, people will only see you as another monster.”

“You needn’t worry about that,” Wu Jue said, pressing his palms together and refusing to argue further.

Ter looked at him, “Rossi must stay alive. He can serve as bait, and we need him to unlock the mausoleum. Though it may not be ideal, Earth needs the Divine Treasure now.”

“There are things about the Divine Treasure you might not know,” Wu Jue said, recounting his encounter with the Guardian. Although the Guardian had claimed Wu Jue was fated to cross paths with the treasure, the Guardian’s terrifying power made Wu Jue feel it was still far out of reach.

Perhaps now was not the time to pursue the Divine Treasure—not until they had gathered enough information.

“Our next step might be to divide the territory and methodically clear out the Tianzhu clan’s teams across the country.” Wu Jue and Ter began to map out the locations of the dozen or so Tianzhu clan squads occupying China, examining their distribution.

In Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces alone, there were two major squads. Gumu’s squad had already lost a third of its forces, but another squad, along with what remained of Gumu’s, controlled most of the region. To reclaim it, a fierce battle was inevitable.

Wu Jue and his companions had traveled across several cities in Zhejiang and Jiangsu. If they united with the forces encountered previously, they might succeed in reclaiming the province.

But what about the other provinces?

Ter informed Wu Jue, “Of China’s thirteen major provinces, most are already under Tianzhu clan control. A handful of central government leaders barely escaped to isolated islands along the coast, where they’re planning a counterattack. The same fate has befallen countries around the world. Of the five continents, only a few superpowers in Europe and North America are still resisting; Oceania and Antarctica have completely fallen.”

“In other words, even if we wanted to unite other nations, it’s almost impossible?” Wu Jue realized the gravity of the situation. It seemed they’d have to focus on rallying their own country’s forces and address the rest later.

In the apocalypse, survival was never easy.

The battle against the Tianzhu clan was a long and arduous task, and everyone would have to take it step by step.

After discussing various matters, Wu Jue notified Xiao Yang of their situation, informing him about Ter’s return and Rossi’s capture.

Xiao Yang and his group were thrilled to hear about Ter and reported that City C was nearly secured. Once everything was arranged, they would join Wu Jue.

Xun’er interjected with a laugh, “Coming here or not, it’s all the same—ruins everywhere, and zombies always lurking. Might as well stay put.”

“Are you planning to settle down here?” Meowpu asked Xun’er, shaking his head. “Too bad there’s no cat food. The Feline Planet folk just aren’t happy.”

Wu Jue smiled, “That’s not a problem. Before we leave, I’ll search the city for supplies—just in case.”

Everyone agreed with the plan. Ter decided to split up with Wu Jue, and the group dispersed among the city’s ruins, searching for relics.
