Chapter 105: Stealing Moments Amidst the Hustle
Finally back at the building, Ter hadn’t returned yet. Alice and the others were idly resting, and no one expected Wu Jue to come back with an injured woman.
Especially since this woman looked so pitiful and fragile.
At that moment, Xun’er saw the two of them get out of the car. Wu Jue was supporting the woman, who was completely leaning on him as if unable to take another step, occasionally letting out soft whimpers.
Looking closely at her left leg, half of her pants leg was torn off, revealing a pale, beautiful leg riddled with glaring bullet holes—an appalling sight.
What on earth had they gotten themselves into?
Xun’er pouted and walked over, asking, “Great Monk, where did this woman come from?”
Wu Jue frowned and said, “Xun’er, be polite. She is our guest. She was accidentally injured, so I brought her back to rest for a couple of days.”
Alice frowned along and added, “Yes, little sister! This master accidentally hurt her while clearing out zombies. It really hurt! But luckily, it was a misunderstanding. No blame to be placed; the master has already bandaged her wounds, and she doesn’t hold a grudge.”
With just a few words, they had shifted all the responsibility onto Wu Jue. He sighed and said, “Benefactor, where did this talk of accidental injury come from? It was clearly me—”
Before he could finish, Alice leaned on his shoulder and softly uttered twice, then whispered in his ear, “Want to hear the real story?”
With that one sentence, Wu Jue swallowed all his grievances and let go of Alice, saying, “Maiden benefactor, you’d better find somewhere to rest. Xun’er here is a skilled healer; she will surely help you.”
He quickly handed Alice over to the glaring Xun’er, who was even praised as a miracle doctor. Xun’er had originally wanted to snap back, hands on hips, but upon hearing this, she smiled broadly and said, “You’re lucky to have met me. Come on, let’s have a look.”
Supporting Alice, she entered the building with unusual kindness. At the doorway, the cat Meowpu glanced at them and sighed, “Two women—soon it’ll be a full-blown drama!”
Wu Jue agreed deeply, “Yeah, I should never have brought her back. Isn’t this just asking for trouble?”
He turned to leave for the pharmacy again, when Ter arrived, returning with lots of daily supplies. He asked Wu Jue, “You came back quickly. Are you leaving again so soon?”
Wu Jue, embarrassed, gave a vague answer, “I saved someone and came back first. I found a pharmacy but didn’t get much. I want to go back for more.”
Ter glanced at the two women talking inside the hall and suddenly smiled, “Then I’ll come with you. Staying here isn’t a wise choice.”
Wu Jue knew Ter’s gaze could see through everything, so he hurriedly started the car, and the two set off.
As the door closed, Meowpu nimbly jumped into the vehicle and sat steadily, saying, “Drive on. The drama’s already started inside, and I don’t want my ears to suffer.”
It turned out Xun’er and Alice had already begun their open and covert rivalry, quI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
