Chapter 114: The Battle of Meowpu
The others followed them in, curious to see what kind of setting Miao Pu and the boy would choose for their battle.
Miao Pu ran quickly in the lead, then suddenly looked back and beckoned to the boy. "Hey, kid, what do you think of this place?"
Ahead of them, amidst the scenery of a street, stood an old office. Miao Pu pointed at it and said, "In a moment, you’re going to be in trouble. Remember to come inside and ask me for help." With a flash, he darted into the office and vanished.
The boy stood at the entrance, scratching his head. "What’s that supposed to mean? What kind of game are you playing? What do you mean I’ll be in trouble?"
No sooner had he spoken than an old-fashioned bicycle came speeding toward him, nearly knocking him down. In the nick of time, Miao Pu pounced from the second floor of the office, shoving the boy aside and narrowly avoiding the collision.
Miao Pu then hopped nimbly from the boy’s face onto the ground, laughing, "I saved your life, so you owe me a favor!"
The spectators were suddenly enlightened. The fat man was the first to shout, "Isn't this *The Cat Returns*? Wait, the plot seems reversed—is this 'The Human Returns'?"
Miao Pu let out a cunning meow, flashed a cute expression at the crowd, and walked back into the house.
The assassin boy scrambled up, furious. "I don’t accept this! Prepare to die!"
Before he could even step into the house, a flowerpot plummeted from above, landing just inches from his heels. He was stunned. The boy turned pale with fright. Miao Pu looked down from the second-floor balcony and said, "I told you, I’m your savior. Don't you believe in the prophetic abilities of Lord Cat?"
"You..." The boy was helpless and sullenly walked into the house. The others moved to the other side of the set to watch the next scene.
Inside, the boy arrived on the second floor, where the miraculous Lord Miao Pu was lying on the desk, waiting for him.
"Well, I saved your life, don't you think it's time to repay me?" Miao Pu said, licking his paw. "My cute little boy."
This was following the script. The boy had likely seen *The Cat Returns*; after all, wasn't the heroine, Haru, supposed to go to the Cat Kingdom to marry a cat prince?
Seemingly understanding the situation, the boy walked over, grabbed Miao Pu, and held him in mid-air. "Did you get something wrong? I’m a boy! Don't talk to me about any gay stuff—if anyone's getting married, it should be you, you annoying cat!"
Miao Pu, expressionless, kicked his legs a few times and actually peed. A straight stream of water splashed onto the boy's clothes, infuriating him.
"Go to hell!" He threw Miao Pu against the wall. Fortunately, Miao Pu reacted quickly, pushing off the wall with his paws and landing back on the desk, where he struck a pose. "Come on, let’s fight three hundred rounds!"
The boy didn't hold back, whipping his hair, which transformed into countless sharp needles that shot toward the cat. They clashed on the desk, both fighting with great intensity. Miao Pu’s movements were remarkably agile, dodging left and right in the air.
Suddenly, Miao Pu leaped onto the boy's neck and began clawing at his hair. Surprisingly, the boy's hair couldn't withstand Miao Pu’s assault. His hair possessed a special, innate superpower, allowing it to become exceptionally sharp—a formidable weapon. However, Miao Pu had the ultimate arsenal: premonition, razor-sharp claws, and the fleas on his body.
Once the cat's fleas fell into the boy's hair, they immediately began destroying its structure. Before long, the boy realized his ability had vanished. He could no longer control his hair to attack. Just then, Miao Pu leaped off him, bouncing off the walls and ceiling.
"What is this, a flying cat?" asked Wujue and the others.
Without warning, after several rebounds, Miao Pu changed direction and pounced onto the boy’s chest, pinning him to the ground. The boy’s head tilted back, foaming at the mouth—he had been knocked out!
"Damn it!" the assassin twins grumbled, disappointed that their teammate had been taken down by a cat.
Before they could speak, Violet, one of the mother-son assassin duo, stepped forward. She had changed into a black bodysuit, vaulted through the window, and aimed a handgun at Miao Pu. "Monster, show your true form! I’ve seen through your disguise."
Miao Pu hopped to the floor and scratched his back, indifferent. "What is this supposed to be? Are you trying to play a cat burglar?"
"Wrong! *Cat's Eye*," Violet said with a mysterious smile. This time, it was her turn to change the battlefield.
Miao Pu, not stupid, immediately understood her intent. He licked his paw and lunged at her. "Let me show you what I'm capable of."
Violet dodged nimbly. As they passed each other, she grabbed Miao Pu by the scruff of his neck and flung him away. The force was vicious; Miao Pu tumbled through the air, unable to dissipate the momentum, and slammed hard into the wall, nearly losing his breath.
As he heard Violet’s footsteps approaching, accompanied by her smug laughter, Miao Pu struggled to stand. "Old hag, do you think you’ve won? I still have this trick!"
He shook his body, standing upright, and transformed into a bipedal cat-man. A grey, cute cat-person stood before Violet, now wearing a suit. He bowed elegantly. "My dear lady, let us finish this game."
He revealed sharp cat claws and lunged at her. Violet was slightly shocked by the transformation but quickly regained her composure, launching a counterattack. They fought fiercely. Once in human form, Miao Pu’s combat power increased significantly, and he pushed Violet into a corner several times.
Seeing this, Alice suddenly said, "Oh no, Miao Pu might lose!"
Xun'er asked, confused, "Why?"
Teer frowned and added, "Although Miao Pu’s combat power increased, it consumes a lot of stamina. Violet just entered the fight, her energy is at its peak, and she hasn't used her ultimate move yet."
Sure enough, after another exchange, Violet unleashed her trump card. She threw a ball, and Miao Pu, distracted, habitually chased after it. Only after catching it did he realize he had been fooled by his feline instincts.
Violet smiled from behind him. "Goodbye."
With a *pop*, the ball exploded in her palm, releasing a cloud of smoke that made Miao Pu sneeze uncontrollably. As Violet closed in and kicked him aside, Miao Pu had no strength left to fight back.
"How about that? Want to fight me again?" Violet laughed triumphantly and turned to the others. "Who's next?"
To her surprise, the others wore eerie expressions, staring at something behind her. Violet felt a chilling presence; the heavily wounded Miao Pu had stubbornly stood up, his face grim, claws bared as he aimed at the triumphant Violet. He was going for one final, desperate strike.
Violet sensed the killing intent but turned around calmly. She looked at the menacing cat and reached out her hand. "Come, kitty, I have your toy right here."
She held a stalk of wheat, waving it before his eyes. It was an irresistible temptation. Though his intuition told him it was a trap, his feline nature betrayed him. He hesitated, then reached out.
Violet whispered, "Good boy," and as he reached for it, she grabbed the stunned cat and kissed him deeply on the forehead.
A purple lip print appeared on Miao Pu’s head, and in an instant, he grew dizzy and lost consciousness.
Violet had won this round.
Wujue smiled triumphantly, looking back at Teer and Xun'er. "Who's next?"
Unexpectedly, Alice stepped forward. "Please allow me to fight. It’s time to settle my grievances with Violet once and for all."
Teer and the others exchanged glances. Violet leaped out of the room, laughing, "Perfect! I was going to nominate you anyway. Let’s fight to the death!"
Alice had taken the challenge. Now, it was time to change the scene once more.
The assassin twins came over and asked provocatively, "What kind of tricks do you want to play this time?"
Violet laughed, "Of course, she gets to choose. It’s the loser's privilege."
