When he woke up, Sister Ming had already left the room early, likely fearing the awkwardness that would come with the light of day. For Wujue, having shed his innocence for the first time, the events of last night still felt like a dream.

At this moment, someone began knocking on the door. Wujue threw on some clothes and asked, "What is it?"

Outside, Huron frowned slightly and said, "Wujue, you were absurdly indulgent last night. Isn't it time to get up and attend to some serious business?"

Wujue nodded and smiled. "Don't worry. I was just playing around with them; I had no intention of being serious. You shouldn't deny yourself either—indulge when you can, don't stifle your own nature. By the way, what did you want to tell me?"

Huron shook his head and led the way. "While organizing the basement last night, I discovered something unusual. It might be a weapon capable of countering the Tianzhu Clan. Come and see."

The two entered the secret underground chamber one after the other. They had already unearthed a good deal of supplies the night before, and when combined with the original stockpile, the harvest was quite bountiful. Unexpectedly, after researching the space further, Huron had found another hidden compartment containing two peculiar pieces of equipment.

Wujue and Huron examined them closely. They resembled the particle cannons used by the Tianzhu Clan, but with a unique design: they featured a handheld grip and a socket for an external energy source.

"This is the secret weapon Boss Cheng mentioned. What do you think?" Wujue asked after inspecting them.

Huron replied, "I’ve looked them over. There’s nothing truly novel about the construction; it’s similar to the Tianzhu equipment, likely technology cloned from the enemy. The only difference is that it’s been miniaturized for handheld use. The biggest issue is that it likely requires a very specific type of energy."

He pondered aloud, "I think that’s the crux of it. If it were just a standard particle cannon, it would only have higher lethality, which wouldn't necessarily threaten the Tianzhu virus. But I suspect the secret lies in the energy source itself."

"I suspect these people may have found a substance capable of countering the Tianzhu virus."

Upon hearing this, Wujue was startled. If they could find a weapon to suppress the Tianzhu, it would be the ultimate trump card in future battles—an absolute advantage.

Just as he was rejoicing, he felt a surge of excitement deep within, as if responding to a stimulus. He had been carrying the amethyst stone in his pocket since he arrived, and now it felt as if it were about to emit some kind of warning.

*Damn it, it shouldn't be glowing now, should it?*

Wujue didn't want Huron to know his secret yet, so he cleared his throat and said, "In that case, continue your research. If you need to, get Xun'er to help. I'm going out to check on the situation outside; it’s time to gather everyone and establish some new rules."

As he turned to head upstairs, Huron suddenly said, "Wujue, don't be in such a hurry to leave. There are some things I need to discuss with you."

Once Wujue turned back, Huron said solemnly, "Over these past few days, have you noticed how much you’ve changed? While I don't object to using unconventional means in this apocalypse, your behavior seems increasingly extreme. Especially yesterday—I never expected you to go on a killing spree and completely dismantle the South China Gang. Afterward, I noticed you starting to indulge in carnal pleasures. These changes are all so sudden. Can you tell me why?"

Wujue chuckled. "Huron, you’re overthinking it. Don't you think all of this is just the natural result of my body becoming stronger?" He clenched his fist. "The more powerful my strength becomes, the more my ambition grows. I was restrained for too long; now I need to change. That is the reason for my transformation today."

Huron shook his head. "It’s not that simple. You can't hide it from me; the very aura about you has changed. How should I put it? The old you was like a benevolent hero, but today, you are filled with a sinister, demonic aura. I chose you to fight the Tianzhu Clan and end the threat to the universe, not to become another disaster."

Hearing this, Wujue became displeased. He waved his hand and said, "Huron, what are you worried about? Do you think things will only get worse by following me? Life is meant to be lived openly, and a person should live without fear—aren't these things you taught me?"

Watching the lingering gloom in Huron's eyes, Wujue couldn't help but wonder if Huron had become dissatisfied with him. That would be a tricky situation. He was counting on Huron to impersonate Boss Cheng to get close to the group in the eastern suburbs; if they broke ties now, he would have to change his plans.

Just as he stepped forward to pat Huron on the shoulder to ease the tension, Huron dodged his hand and instead held one of the handheld particle cannons up in front of Wujue.

"I am now very suspicious that you have been infected by the Tianzhu Clan," Huron said sternly. "You know that their higher-level viruses can control a host's mind without altering their physical appearance. If that is the case, I will have no choice but to kill you."

"What?" Wujue felt a surge of murderous intent. "Huron, you underestimate me. Do you really think I could be controlled by the Tianzhu Clan? Don't joke around."

Dismissing the matter, he turned and walked toward the exit without hesitation, secretly pulling the amethyst stone from his pocket. Huron was not like the others; a direct confrontation would be troublesome. If necessary, he would simply "blacken" him as well and turn him into one of his own. That would solve everything.

*Don't blame me for this—you brought this trouble on yourself!*

A flicker of murderous intent crossed Wujue's face. He suddenly spun around and shouted, "I forgot to tell you, about that Sister Ming..."

In a flash, he moved with impossible speed, closing the distance instantly. As Huron lunged forward, Wujue plunged the amethyst stone directly into his shoulder, then delivered a brutal kick to his chest before leaping back.

Standing aside, he watched the purple mist emanate from Huron's wound and sneered, "Huron, you asked why I changed? Let me let you taste what it feels like to fall."

Huron, caught off guard, began to contort. He initially tried to use his own strength to resist the evil energy of the amethyst, but his body soon succumbed. He stumbled, fell to the ground, and dropped the particle cannon, slipping into a daze.

Wujue took the opportunity to step forward and pick up the cannon. He smiled to himself, "Huron, from now on, we will truly be of one mind."

As he waited for Huron to be "converted," the particle cannon in his hand began to vibrate violently. A wisp of purple energy from within the energy input port seemed to expand rapidly. With a loud *boom*, the device activated, firing a concentrated beam of light.

It exploded on the floor, sending a shockwave that knocked Wujue backward. The entire underground warehouse trembled, and debris began to fall. Wujue was ecstatic—he realized the amethyst stone he had obtained was the raw material needed to power the secret weapon. Everything had fallen into his lap with such ease.

With this new treasure, he felt even more confident in dealing with the Tianzhu Clan.

Soon, Huron seemed to awaken. His wounds healed, and his physical appearance changed, becoming even more sinister and imposing. He stood up, looked at Wujue, and said, "Wujue, it seems we are of one mind again."

Huron had also been infected by the amethyst stone, becoming Wujue's accomplice. The two looked at each other and laughed wildly, feeling a sense of ambition they had never known before.

Wujue suddenly noticed a passage appearing on the warehouse wall and asked Huron in surprise, "Is there a secret tunnel here? How did we not notice it?"

Huron turned to look at the secret passage that had emerged after the tremor and said, "It seems Boss Cheng didn't tell us the whole truth. Should we go in and take a look?"

Wujue replied, "Fine. You go ahead, and I'll provide cover from outside. Do you have a walkie-talkie? Let's take one each."

After securing their gear, Wujue went back to the surface. He maintained contact with Huron, following the path to see where the tunnel led. Before long, he reached the rear of the villa complex and discovered that there was more to the place than met the eye; Huron had found a secret chamber down below.

Soon, Wujue discovered that a secret door had opened where there should have been only lawn. Looking closely, he realized there were people hiding inside.

He scanned his surroundings, climbed onto a wall, and looked down to see a figure hurriedly carrying another person toward a vehicle parked in the back.

Without a second thought, Wujue raised the particle cannon he had just taken and aimed. Through the scope, he realized the fleeing men were none other than the "dead" Ah Hu and Boss Cheng.

*A close call!* They had been hiding there for days. If they had escaped, his subsequent plans would have been ruined.

He waited quietly until the two got into the car and started the engine. The moment they were about to leave, he fired a shot. The beam struck the hood of the car, causing an explosion that sent the vehicle flying into the air.

Wujue jumped down and walked toward the burning wreck. A hand reached out from the wreckage; Ah Hu struggled to push the window open and crawled out, staring at Wujue with eyes filled with lingering resentment.

Wujue pulled out his pistol, pointed it at Ah Hu's forehead, and glanced at Boss Cheng inside the car—he was already dead.

"It seems your luck is bad," Wujue smiled. "Is it time to make a choice?"

Ah Hu looked up and said, "Just give me a quick death!"

Wujue shook his head. "No. You still need to go to the eastern suburbs and infiltrate those monsters for me."

He fired a shot, the bullet landing less than half an inch from Ah Hu without taking his life. Wujue waited for Huron to arrive and take Ah Hu to complete the scene he had orchestrated.

When Huron arrived a moment later and witnessed the situation, he asked, "Why not kill him? Are you keeping him alive for a reason?"

Wujue smiled. "I want you to impersonate Boss Cheng and accompany Ah Hu to the eastern suburbs. You can slowly persuade him along the way."

Huron glanced at the charred corpse of Boss Cheng in the car. He silently changed his appearance, and in the end, he stood before Ah Hu looking exactly like the man himself.

Ah Hu was left completely stunned!
