It could not have been clearer: Sister Gan must have plotted everything in secret and caused Lulu’s death.

For the sake of caution, she had probably poisoned Lulu’s drink as well.

Wu Jue left the room at once and headed for the storage room beside the hall. He arrived first, slipped inside, and hid himself, waiting for her to appear. Sure enough, it was not long before the figure in the white suit pushed open the door and crept inside, trying to take away a bottle of drink.

Wu Jue immediately stepped out and blocked the doorway.

“In such a hurry to retrieve something, Sister Gan? What are you planning to do? Destroy the evidence?”

Before she could react, he tore off her headscarf, revealing that her entire appearance had been transformed. With a cold laugh, he said, “So you’re actually an expert at disguises.”

Sister Gan’s expression changed. She hurriedly hid the bottle behind her and said, “Stop talking nonsense. Do you know who I am? How dare you harass me like this? I’m telling you, even Boss Ren can’t—”

Wu Jue had no patience for her excuses. He reached behind her and snatched out the bottle.

“Here it is. Do you want me to have it tested? Or should we skip the trouble and have you drink it yourself?”

He pinned Sister Gan down, gripped her throat, and tried to force the drink into her mouth. Terrified, she struggled violently, displaying extraordinary strength and nearly shoving him away.

Seeing how powerful she was, Wu Jue mocked her. “You look like nothing more than a fat woman, yet you can transform and you’re surprisingly strong. Tell me, what’s your real background? Are you a spy from the Sky Punishment Clan, or did Ming send you?”

Panicking, Sister Gan hurried to explain, “No! I’m just an ordinary person. I’m not a bad person at all. Don’t kill me—I’ll confess everything!”

“Then confess. What are you waiting for?”

Wu Jue drove his elbow hard into her chest. The blow nearly made Sister Gan vomit bile.

Now sitting on the floor with her head in her hands, her glasses removed, she quickly confessed, “I only have the ability to disguise myself. Normally, I can transform for an hour or two. But I was born with an awful figure, and I envied those girls. So I toyed with them. Anyone who wanted to make a film had to come begging me. I never expected the apocalypse to come. I could barely survive anymore, and I hated those women. They were born with such perfect bodies…”

“Enough of that!”

Disgusted, Wu Jue slapped her again.

“Tell me something useful. What were you planning when you killed Lulu? Who was backing you?”

“Backing me?” Sister Gan shook her head. “No one was backing me. I just couldn’t control myself. Don’t be fooled by how impressive Ren Tiancheng and the others seem—they’re all rotten to the core. Compared with them, I’m practically decent. Ren Tiancheng has affairs with female celebrities, and he even goes after underage girls. Zhu Yibiao likes putting horns on other men—he’s even more disgusting than I am.”

Whether she had completely broken down or not, she grew more incoherent the longer she talked, even exposing the secrets of Ren Tiancheng and Zhu Yibiao.

Wu Jue was delighted to hear it. He sat down nearby and temporarily stopped beating her.

“Then tell me about those two. If you give me a satisfying account, I might be able to cover things up for you.”

Sister Gan stared at him in surprise, then sat down to one side.

“All right. I’m going all the way today. Those two men… they’re both truly vile.”

She went on and on, spilling secret after secret, until Wu Jue felt sick. So Ren Tiancheng really was a disgusting bastard. No wonder he enjoyed playing with female celebrities. Yang Ming’er and Lulu both had such youthful faces. As it turned out, back when he had first started doing business, he had already been fond of pursuing girls who were barely grown.

As for Zhu Yibiao, Wu Jue did not even want to think about him. The man had no humanity at all, always targeting the wives and daughters of people he knew. It was revolting.

Wu Jue asked irritably, “You went after Lulu. Weren’t you afraid that once this came to light, you’d have nowhere left to go?”

Sister Gan gritted her teeth. “I’ve already thrown caution to the wind, so I’ll tell you. I once copied a screenplay about educational problems. In it, a teacher gives in to his bestial nature and massacres his students. With some changes, it might have been suitable for a small release. I had already reached an agreement with Lulu, but then she backed out.”

“Now I’m using that screenplay to stage a real massacre. I’m going to kill every one of those vile women!”

As she said this, Sister Gan gnashed her teeth, as though venting all the hatred inside her.

Wu Jue rose and patted her shoulder. “What about the screenplay? Did you keep it?”

“It’s in my room.”

The moment Sister Gan finished speaking, Wu Jue struck her on the forehead and killed her outright.

He turned, pushed open the door, and said with a laugh, “I’ll be taking the screenplay, then. You can wait until you reach the underworld to see how the show turns out.”

He went upstairs. After making sure no one was around, he headed straight to Sister Gan’s room. After rummaging through the place, he found a notebook.

It contained some of Sister Gan’s diary entries, as well as a screenplay. The diary contained nothing but an account of her years of lesbian affairs, so Wu Jue barely glanced at it before tearing it apart.

The screenplay, however, held his attention. It meticulously described how Sister Gan planned to begin with the people around Ren Tiancheng, impersonate one of their bodyguards, create chaos, and then make them turn on one another.

The plan was utterly insane and extreme. Even Wu Jue, at that moment, could not help breaking into a cold sweat.

A madwoman. This woman was completely mad.

And yet… a massacre like this was thrilling.

Wu Jue had long since fallen into a demonic obsession, and the screenplay further inflamed his bloodlust. The amethyst crystal inside his clothes began to glow of its own accord.

“What is it? Even you can’t wait any longer? You want to go out and drink more fresh blood?”

Laughing wildly, Wu Jue committed every detail of the screenplay to memory.

He decided to act that very night and put on one spectacular show.

At dinner, Wu Jue claimed that he was too tired and returned alone to his room.

Then he remembered that there was still a woman lying on his bed. She had probably spent the entire day suffering.

Wu Jue gently lifted the blanket. The woman weakly opened her eyes, then looked at him in terror, having no idea what he intended to do.

“It’s all right. Don’t be nervous. It’ll be over soon.”

Wu Jue pressed a hand against her back and asked with a smile, “You people have been living here like you’re in paradise. Do you miss those days?”

The woman nodded vigorously, then hurriedly shook her head.

Wu Jue continued, “Most of the people here are minor celebrities and rich heirs, right? Ever since the apocalypse began, you’ve been living shamelessly here. Did you never think of going outside and seeing what the world was really like?”

At that, the woman seemed to want to nod, but confusion clouded her face.

Wu Jue smiled and went on. “But your good days are over. Because I’m going to destroy this place completely. I’m going to turn your paradise into hell!”

An indescribable smile spread across his face. At last, the woman began trembling violently in terror.

“You’ll be the first. It’ll be over in a moment.”

Wu Jue suddenly extended one finger and struck her fatal pressure point, sending her straight to the underworld.

He turned and sat down in the room. His entire being had been seduced by that murderous screenplay, and his mind was filled with visions of reducing the damned resort to utter ruin.

The first step was to obtain a weapon—a shotgun—and then find someone to serve as a scapegoat.

Ren Tiancheng had another bodyguard, did he not?

Then that man would be the one.

Excited, Wu Jue left the room and headed straight for the weapons depot. Only two bodyguards were stationed at the entrance. When they saw him arrive, they hurriedly nodded.

“Sixth Brother, what brings you here? Shouldn’t you be getting some more rest?”

Wu Jue smiled. “Rest? There’s too much going on lately. The big shots have all gone off to enjoy themselves, so we have to stay alert too. I’m here to inspect the weapons and equipment and see whether there are any problems.”

The two men exchanged uneasy glances.

“Well… that might not be appropriate. Old Brother Jie has always been in charge of this place, and nobody else has ever dared interfere. Besides, when Brother Dan was here, there was no such rule either.”
