The entire process of expelling the poison was far from smooth. Several times, just as Han was about to succeed, the virus of the Heaven's Retribution Clan would counterattack, causing the carrier’s blood vessels to burst and resulting in their death.

It was only on the third attempt that he managed, by sheer luck, to succeed. After that, things went more smoothly; he managed to expel the virus from seven more people, though two died and five were injured in the process.

Xiao Yang came out and patted him on the shoulder, saying, “You did well enough. At least we’re making progress compared to before.”

Han wiped the sweat from his brow and asked, “Can you figure out what these viruses actually are?”

Xiao Yang collected some of the expelled virus into a test tube to take back for research. “Leave the rest to me. I’ll come up with a solution for everyone.”

At that moment, Wujue had already adapted to Boss Ma’s shamanic arts. He found that the combination of this power with his own martial skills resulted in an extraordinary increase in strength.

This, it seemed, was an unusual gift from Boss Ma. Wujue walked over to where Xun’er was erecting a wooden post as a headstone for Boss Ma and offered kindly, “Let me carve the inscription for Boss Ma. After all, he did help me in the end.”

Xun’er rose and nodded, stepping aside to give him space.

Wujue flicked his fingers through the air, using a special finger technique to carve the words on the post: “Tomb of Boss Ma, left by his filial daughter Xun’er.”

Each stroke was bold and majestic, the characters etched as if into the sky itself. When he finished, Xun’er silently shed another tear.

She whispered, “This is good. At least now Father and Mother can be reunited below.”

Suddenly, the Dragon Palace trembled all around. From inside the airship, Xiao Yang shouted, “There’s movement on the lake’s surface. It looks like the enemy is here!”

Wujue and An Yi exchanged glances. “Dragon King, we must go and fight them to the death. Please take care of these people for us.”

The Dragon King nodded and opened the exit of the Dragon Palace for them. Wujue led An Yi, Huron, and Han out together.

Xun’er and Xiao Yang had also intended to go, but Wujue blocked their way, insisting that they stay and look after everyone, especially to search for the weaknesses of the Heaven’s Retribution Clan.

Unexpectedly, Ling’er and Ao Hai, who had been quietly following the group all along, now volunteered to go and help.

The Dragon King looked at his son and waved his hand. “Go. It’s time for you to make a change.”

Overjoyed, Ao Hai joined the others and left the Dragon Palace together.

After drifting for a while, they reached the surface of the lake, where a gigantic sea monster was wreaking havoc, clearly under the control of the Heaven’s Retribution Clan.

Han exclaimed, “Where on earth did such an ugly sea monster come from? Haven’t any of you seen this before?”

Ao Hai interjected, “Impossible. There are no such monsters in Lake Tai.”

He floated onto the water’s surface, riding the waves straight toward the sea monster.

Han was speechless. “This kid is even more impetuous than I am. Who is he, anyway? He can ride the wind and waves—aren’t you all worried?”

Wujue leapt into the air. “No one has time to be afraid right now. Our only task is to beat those Heaven’s Retribution bastards to a pulp.”

With that, he shot forward, overtaking Ao Hai, and landed on the monster’s back. With a sweep of his hand, he grabbed the monster by the neck and demanded, “Monster, where is your master who controls you?”

The monster roared and tried to shake Wujue off, but with three punches and two kicks, Wujue subdued it, forcing it to lie motionless on the water.

Ao Hai soon arrived and began communicating with the monster. He discovered that it had been captured by the Heaven’s Retribution Clan and forced to come here.

They were about to question the creature further when, all of a sudden, massive schools of fish surged from the lake, swarming madly toward the group as if possessed.

Wujue had no time to deal with them one by one. He seized the monster by the neck, summoned his divine strength, and hurled it far into the distance.

Meanwhile, Han used his Mirror Light technique to illuminate the water, unexpectedly discovering transparent viruses hidden on the lake’s surface.

It turned out these Heaven’s Retribution viruses could refract sunlight, using the light to remain invisible and stealthily infect other creatures.

However, because of this refracted light, their movement was quite slow.

Han immediately shot through a large cluster of viruses, causing a disgusting white liquid to fall into the lake.

Huron shouted, “We can’t let their remains contaminate the water, or more of the lake will be polluted!”

An Yi and the others asked, “Then what do we do? Just let them run amok?”

“Han, use your Mirror Light to search. Ao Hai, use your water bubbles to trap them. We’ll handle the fish,” Wujue quickly assigned tasks, and everyone set to work according to their roles.

Having found the viruses’ weakness, the situation changed dramatically. Han cast his spells in succession, revealing most of the hidden viruses. Ao Hai encased each one, floating them atop the water.

Wujue, An Yi, and the others led the charge to drive away the frenzied fish, while Huron transformed into a shark and dove into the lake, stirring up the water and sweeping most of the fish away.

Only Ling’er had nothing to do with her fists and feet, so she helped Ao Hai. The two worked together with uncanny harmony, as if they were old friends.

With Ling’er’s help, Ao Hai quickly gathered large amounts of water, forming bubbles to deal with the vile viruses.

In their brief respite, they joked, “With so many of these things, will we ever eat fish again?”

Han, overhearing from above, laughed, “Even if you can’t eat, love is enough to sustain you.”

Ling’er blushed and fell silent, saying nothing more to Ao Hai.

After a great deal of effort, they had finally eliminated most of the Heaven’s Retribution viruses. Just as they were catching their breath, a surge of waves erupted from the lake, nearly sweeping Han and the others into the water.

Seeing this, Wujue immediately flew over, gathered his energy, and summoned the torrent into his palm, dispersing it with a powerful strike.

With a thunderous crash, the water separated before him, scattering into countless droplets.

A gigantic sea fish appeared, baring its sharp teeth.

This time, it was not one of Huron’s illusions, but a real monster controlled by the Heaven’s Retribution Clan.

Wujue caught his breath. “You fiend, this is no place for you.”

Han called out from above, “Exactly! Sea fish should stay in the sea. This is a freshwater lake, you know!”

Ao Hai tugged at him, signaling him to be quiet and watch how Wujue would handle it.

The fish stared at Wujue, baring its teeth in a wicked grin, then opened its mouth with a deafening roar and swallowed Wujue whole.

But Wujue felt no fear. He was now focused solely on battling the world, finding endless joy in the struggle.

With a flash, he shot straight into the monster’s mouth, disappearing before everyone’s astonished eyes.

A moment later, he burst out through the fish’s body, emerging again into view.

The monster let out a miserable scream, collapsed onto the lake, and its blood stained the surface red. In Wujue’s hand was a ball of purple energy, within which he had captured the controlling virus using shamanic arts.

He interrogated it sternly, “Fiend, how many of you are there, and how do you plan to deal with us?”

The black mass within the purple energy writhed desperately, as if trying to escape, but Wujue’s shamanic arts had already blocked every path.

After subduing it, he understood everything. He turned to Han, “Han, come here and finish erasing it. We need to prepare to withdraw.”

Han stepped forward, using his Mirror Light to incinerate the virus, and Wujue returned to the group.

“It seems this group chasing us is the Heaven’s Retribution Clan’s assassination unit. They first tried to destroy us with bomb viruses, but failed. So now they control the fish to attack us. For now, we’ve repelled the first wave.”

Everyone sighed with relief, but they knew it wouldn’t be so simple. If this was only the first wave, there would surely be a second.

As expected, Wujue continued, “To prevent further attacks, I need Xiao Yang to send a false signal, making them think we’ve all been wiped out and there are no survivors here. Otherwise, they’ll keep coming and destroy everything in Lake Tai.”

Huron immediately dove into the lake to relay the message to Xiao Yang.
