Without warning, Xiao Wang was shot and died instantly before Xiao Yang's eyes. Members of the SWAT team burst in, immediately taking control of the situation inside the room. Upon witnessing the scene, they were utterly stunned.

It was clear that these people were entirely different from those who had accompanied Xiao Yang earlier. They were the companions Xiao Wang had mentioned. Calmly, Xiao Yang holstered his gun and said, “You’ve finally arrived. Is everything handled outside?”

The leader, a middle-aged SWAT officer, lowered his submachine gun and replied, “All taken care of. What happened here? Why is Number Ten dead? Weren’t we just supposed to put on a show?”

They seemed just as shocked—what exactly had caused Xiao Wang’s sudden death?

Xiao Yang shook his head and answered, “I don’t know either. Everything was under control. We had just started talking about transporting the goods when a shadow appeared in the room, then dashed out the door. I fired at him, the bullet struck him but suddenly ricocheted, hitting Xiao Wang and killing him. Something’s off. By the way, the item we’re supposed to escort—make sure nothing goes wrong!”

He spun a tale, attempting to mislead them. The impostor SWAT officers gathered in the room to confer, “The goods must be sent off. Looks like we need to support Number Three downstairs. Numbers Four, Five, and Six, head down to assist Number Three. The rest stay here.”

The leader, addressed as Number One, seemed to be in charge. After giving his orders, he refused to let Xiao Yang leave. He and two others wearing gas masks remained in the room, beginning to investigate the cause of Xiao Wang’s death.

“You said there was a shadow hiding in the room, then suddenly leaving?” Number One examined Number Ten’s body and suddenly said, “Could it be another Mirror Knight? But that’s impossible—Mirror Knight Tell is already dead, and the newcomer Sel reportedly went back. Has someone inherited the Mirror Knight’s will?”

The three of them discussed, scanning Number Ten’s body with instruments Xiao Yang didn’t understand, but he was sure his lie would not hold for long.

He needed to weigh his chances—how confident was he he could handle these men?

Suddenly, someone reported, “Number Three has been rescued. We are currently transporting the goods out of the building and need Number Two to assist with passage.”

Xiao Yang breathed a sigh of relief, saying, “Looks like it’s my turn again.”

He was just about to bid farewell and seize the opportunity to leave when Number One stepped in to stop him. “Not so fast. We have more questions about Number Ten’s death. Why was the bullet fired directly toward the door, when the window is to the side, and about the records inside Number Ten…”

Before he could finish his questioning, Xiao Yang unleashed a dozen throwing knives from his hand, aiming straight for the three men’s heads.

In moments of crisis, there was no room for hesitation.

Moments earlier, Wu Jue had dealt with his opponent. After searching the body, he found a phone still in use.

He had just received a message: “Something happened to you? We’re coming soon. Is the item intact?”

The item—what exactly was it?

This wasn’t the first time Wu Jue had encountered such a situation. Whenever some mysterious object appeared, it never boded well.

But now was not the time for hesitation; he needed to stop these people as quickly as possible.

He took the phone and left the room, slipping out according to the information Xiao Yang had given him earlier—the mayor might already be in danger.

He had barely reached the corridor when the SWAT officers began mobilizing. Someone rushed toward him, opening fire without a word.

Wu Jue knew they were likely controlled by the Sky Execution Clan. Without thinking, he dodged and fought back, swiftly disarming two submachine guns and defeating three men before moving upstairs.

He received several more text messages, which shifted from inquiries to threats—promising vengeance for their fallen companions. Wu Jue thought, at this point, it was a fight to the death; who would fear such threats?

As he searched for shelter and checked the phone’s records for information about the goods, he was suddenly pulled into a room. Turning, he saw Xiao Han inside, gesturing, “Shh, keep quiet. Princess An Yi is here as well. Xiao Yang is currently infiltrating their ranks upstairs. We need to act as the situation demands.”

Wu Jue patted him, speaking in a low voice, “I didn’t expect you to recover so quickly. That’s great news. Is Xiao Yang undercover?”

Xiao Han took out a wireless earpiece, handing it to Wu Jue so he could listen to the activity upstairs. After a while, he understood the predicament Xiao Yang was facing—most of City Hall had been taken over.

These enemies from the Sky Execution Clan truly left no gaps.

Listening further, he heard that the enemy had sent people downstairs to assist Number Three, and then began questioning Xiao Yang. Hearing Number One threaten Xiao Yang, Wu Jue exchanged a glance with Xiao Han, and the two charged out of the room.

One darted straight upstairs, while the other unleashed the power of the Mirror Knight, battling Numbers Four, Five, and Six in the corridor.

Amidst a hail of bullets, Wu Jue sprinted forward, performing consecutive leaps and employing his lightfoot technique to its utmost, carving a bloody path through the barrage.

He finally reached the staircase, but his pursuers followed close behind. A burst of bullets was fired at his back; Wu Jue leaped into the air, stepping on the banister to dodge.

Bullets left a dozen craters in the wall. Wu Jue spun around and fired back in return.

His opponents dodged and weaved, evading his attacks, and the fight became a tug-of-war.

Both sides battled on the stairs, Wu Jue steadily advancing to the third floor until he reached the corridor entrance. Suddenly, he heard a door being pushed open.

Someone shouted, “No more hiding—prepare to die!”

Gunshots rang out; someone rolled out of the doorway, clad in a SWAT uniform. Yet Wu Jue sensed a familiar aura—it was Xiao Yang in disguise.

The two met in the corridor, exchanging a knowing glance, and simultaneously fired two shots each at the enemies behind one another. After several gunshots, the enemies following from the corridor were felled, with Xiao Yang delivering a headshot.

The enemies within the room were also forced to retreat by Wu Jue’s attack.

The two joined forces, standing back to back, quickly reloading their handguns. Wu Jue handed Xiao Yang a Beretta, then asked, “What’s going on? Are all the enemies exposed?”

“The mayor is still inside. Their aim is some important item and to seize this place,” Xiao Yang replied as he reloaded, quickly strategizing with Wu Jue, “We need to find out what they’re trying to take and stop them.”

Wu Jue nodded, “Don’t worry. I won’t let these people have their way again.”

With that, he rolled sideways to the ground, sliding to the doorway and firing a dozen shots inside. The two men at the door were hit in the legs several times, leaving only Number One, who grabbed the mayor and jumped out the window, escaping downstairs.

“Damn! They’re playing for keeps!” Xiao Yang followed, witnessing it all and stomping in frustration.

Without hesitation, Wu Jue stepped onto the window sill and leapt out, “I’ll rescue the mayor. You and Xiao Han find out what item they’re trying to send—I suspect it’s related to the Miracle.”

“What Miracle? Explain!” Xiao Yang called out, hearing Wu Jue’s hint but not understanding. Yet Wu Jue had already vanished.

Wu Jue leapt down, landing easily. He saw several SWAT bodies on the ground; Number One had already broken through with the mayor and seemed to have boarded a car.

They had clearly planned for backup, with someone waiting to assist. Wu Jue immediately activated his lightfoot technique, pushing his limits and nearly flying across several hundred meters.

His speed was astonishing—the car had just started and accelerated to its maximum. Normally, it would have left Wu Jue far behind, but after several minutes of pursuit, something unusual happened—the car stopped.

The driver was a woman. Number One urged her, “What’s happening? The car stalls at a time like this! What are you doing?”

The female driver replied, feeling wronged, “There’s nothing I can do. It’s fate. If you can’t take him, who can?”

Before Number One could react, she turned and smiled at him—a sweet, almost mysterious smile.

Instantly, Number One was affected by her smile. He blankly opened the car door, threw away his gun, knelt on the ground, clutching his head, and surrendered without resistance.

Wu Jue, arriving nearby, was caught off guard!

He eyed the female driver warily as she stepped out, only to find a familiar face—Xun’er.

“Big Monk, are you not happy to see me?” Xun’er beamed, waving at Wu Jue, “I’ve solved a big problem for you all!”
