At the crucial moment, none of them expected Xun’er to suddenly appear and prevent Number One from escaping.

Wu Jue was overjoyed, stepping forward to search Number One and retrieve a pair of handcuffs, which he promptly used. He asked, "Xun’er, how did you end up here? And how did you become one of their companions—did you arrive in City C long ago?"

Xun’er replied with a triumphant smile, "Of course! I got here early and ran into some of their comrades meeting in the outskirts. I wanted to surprise you, so I quietly followed them and disguised myself as one of their own. Wasn't I a big help? This guy is completely under my spell, obedient as can be."

Wu Jue, having secured Number One, opened the car door to let the mayor out. The mayor, who had been shaken awake by the bumpy ride, looked around awkwardly and asked, "What's happened now?"

"You're safe for the moment," Wu Jue reassured him. "These hidden spies have revealed themselves. Now it's up to us to handle the rest."

With Number One in custody, Wu Jue prepared to return and finally bring an end to the farce.

Xun’er accompanied them. The four of them emerged outside the building, where the special police officers stationed outside had already seen Wu Jue rescue the mayor and rushed over to take charge.

Wu Jue said, "We've got the mayor, so you needn't worry about him. Take this man back and clear out the enemies inside the building."

At this point, anyone could be a hidden spy, so Wu Jue dared not entrust the mayor's safety to others.

He instructed Xun’er to protect the mayor and not to trust anyone before he and Xiao Yang returned.

Xun’er nodded, "Don't worry. Go ahead and risk your lives. I'll stay here and watch the show."

She folded her arms, drew a circle on the ground, and pulled the mayor inside, saying, "Let's play a game—let's see who leaves the circle first."

The mayor could only smile wryly; he'd never met such a charming young witch.

Once everything was arranged, Wu Jue commanded the remaining dozens of special police officers, warning them that the enemies upstairs were the formidable Tianzhu Clan. "You may not be their match in a direct confrontation. Remember, don't fight recklessly—preserve your lives."

Then, with Number One in tow, he advanced into the building, using his wireless headset to contact Xiao Yang. "Xiao Yang, do you copy? I've rescued the mayor, and Xun’er is here as well. She's staying downstairs. How are things on your end?"

After a moment, the headset crackled with static and Xiao Yang replied, "We're almost done. Xiao Han and I have dealt with Numbers Four, Five, and Six. Seven and Eight are on the run, and there's no sign of Number Nine. But the second floor is overrun with zombies—we can't get close to Number Ten's body. How are we supposed to look for clues to the item?"

Wu Jue frowned, "Zombies? When did the enemy start spreading the virus? Also, have you contacted An Yi and the sisters Lily and Mei Mei? Any progress from their side?"

Xiao Han interjected, "An Yi says she ran into the enemy and is trapped. Lily and Mei Mei are searching at Xiao He's house, and they should have news soon."

Suddenly, their communication was cut off.

Wu Jue immediately ordered the accompanying special police officers to ascend the building via both staircases, intending to clear the zombies from the second floor and seize Number Ten's body before the enemy could.

Whatever the Tianzhu Clan's scheme was, it could not be allowed to succeed.

After giving orders, Wu Jue took the machine gun handed to him by the special police, leading his team up the right side. As soon as he set foot on the stairs, he caught the strong stench of death that permeated the second floor.

The entire floor seemed to be overrun by zombies; any movement drew them down the stairs. As Wu Jue rounded the corner, two zombies staggered toward him. Without hesitation, he raised his gun and shot them both in the head, then leaped forward, using their bodies as stepping stones to reach the second floor.

The corridor was packed with zombies. At the far end, gunfire erupted. The zombies let out piercing shrieks, surging toward Wu Jue. He swept his gun across them, but the first row was pushed forward by the masses behind.

At this point, firearms were useless.

Wu Jue grabbed a nearby trash can and wielded it with force, the powerful blow driving the zombies back over a meter.

He then unleashed his mighty Vajra Palm, channeling his full strength—each strike sent the trash can flying, rebounding, and flying again, the intense impact creating space before him.

The special police officers behind him followed, aiming and firing to deal with the zombies at the front, while Wu Jue took advantage of the cleared area to display his agility, moving with both hands and feet.

Vajra Palm combined with Whirlwind Kick—Wu Jue's movements were unpredictable, and a mysterious violet aura enveloped him, amplifying the force of his attacks.

With a thunderous crash, the trash can finally buckled under Wu Jue's assault, exploding ahead and shredding two zombies into bloody pieces. In that instant, Wu Jue unleashed a powerful blast from his fist.

He had finally mastered the Great Transformation Record, achieving perfection and now able to manifest invisible energy as tangible force.

Though it was only a shadow of a fist, it was enough to shock everyone. The straight punch tore a path through the zombie horde, and Wu Jue swept it overhead, toppling another group in a single blow.

"Now’s the time! Cover me!" Wu Jue shouted, charging in with unstoppable force, arriving at Number Ten’s room.

The special police, breaking through from the other side, arrived and joined him; they stayed outside to fight off zombies while Wu Jue entered to search for Number Ten’s corpse.

The room reeked of rot. In a short time, several decayed bodies accumulated. Wu Jue searched and finally found Number Ten’s body, but its abdomen had been hollowed out.

It seemed similar to the creatures encountered previously at the factory—likely the same batch of corpses used to store keys. Wu Jue sensed that the mysterious organization was still hiding something from him.

He had to find who took the key. As Wu Jue went out to notify Xiao Yang of the situation, chaos broke out in the corridor—a sudden explosion demolished half the building.

Amid the confusion, Wu Jue was nearly knocked to the ground, but he managed to adjust his stance and land safely. As he stood, dust and debris were everywhere; most of the zombies in the corridor were killed by the blast, and the special police officers, fortunately at a distance, were mostly unharmed.

Xiao Han floated down from upstairs. "That was close! There was a hidden saboteur—someone mutated and exploded out of nowhere. Is everyone alright?"

Wu Jue checked and replied, "Luckily we're fine. How’s it upstairs?"

Xiao Yang came down with his team. "We’ve cleared it—danger is resolved for now, but downstairs..."

Suddenly, shouts rang out from below. The group hurried to the collapsed opening and looked outside.

Some zombies had been blasted down and were not completely dead, spreading into the street and causing considerable chaos.

"Looks like we need to finish the job," Wu Jue said, jumping down with Xiao Han, leaving Xiao Yang to manage the scene.

The two descended, clearing out the remaining zombies. Xiao Han used the power of the Mirror Hero, easily capturing several that had run off.

Wu Jue brandished his machine gun, putting his painstakingly honed marksmanship to use, picking off zombies one by one, swiftly eliminating the stragglers.

A few minutes later, after clearing the area, they regrouped, thinking they could finally relax.

Suddenly, Lily sent a message: she had just found information about Xiao He's girlfriend. It turned out she was a minor actress who had gone abroad for training a year ago, returned, worked as a hotel supervisor, and a month ago transferred to the municipal office as an assistant to a minister. She should have been at work today.

Wu Jue was surprised—she was in the building, but hadn't been seen. Could she be suspicious?

Xiao Yang said, "I’ve found her photo and will distribute it immediately. Everyone, look out for a woman in her early twenties, about 1.7 meters tall, wearing a gray business suit."

Wu Jue and Xiao Han began searching. Xiao Han soared overhead, using the power of the Eight Trigram Mirror to scan the surroundings.

Soon, he caught a glimpse in the mirror's light.

A few minutes earlier, during the explosion, a woman matching the description had climbed out of a second-floor window, jumped to the other side of the building, and slipped away in the chaos.

Xiao Han immediately chased in her direction. Shortly, he spotted a helicopter in the sky; she was aboard, waving at him.

Before Xiao Han could approach, the helicopter transformed into a mini airship and vanished from sight.
