Chapter 160: Their Lack of Skill
“Hmm? Who’s speaking?” The little dragon pinched the back of its hand hard, then suddenly nodded in realization. “Oh, so it was just a dream.” No wonder everything around was so silent, even the wind seemed superfluous.
“Hehehe, what an interesting little fellow.”
“Little one, are you willing to accept the legacy of our Silver Dragon clan?”
An ancient voice echoed through the void, clearly reaching the little dragon’s ears.
“Old man, you’re from the Silver Dragon clan? Why are you barging into my dream for no reason?”
“Besides, the legacy I should inherit is that of the Fire Dragon clan.”
The little dragon lifted its head, scanning around, but could not see the speaker’s form anywhere.
“Sigh, little fire dragon, do you know that by fate’s design, you have already earned the recognition of the Silver Dragon clan’s power?
If not, I wouldn’t have come to grant you the full legacy.”
The little dragon keenly sensed that the old man’s words held no falsehood, even carrying a hint of prideful charm.
Silver Dragon clan—the very clan of the ancient silver dragon, was it not?
Could this “fate’s design” refer to the pair of dragon horns it had inadvertently gnawed on?
“What if I refuse this legacy?” the little dragon asked.
“Then the power within you will remain unacknowledged, and you will burst apart and die. Don’t worry; you have five days to consider.”
“Consider my foot! How unlucky can I be? I just want to take on a true form, yet face death by bursting apart? I’ll accept the legacy now—immediately, at once.”
“Hehe, little one, all who come to receive my legacy show me the utmost respect. You speak to me rather impolitely.
The temper of your Fire Dragon clan truly hasn’t changed.”
“I am a divine dragon; why should I bow and scrape before you? Now, let the legacy begin.”
“Of course. Little one, whether you inherit it depends on your destiny.”
As soon as the voice fell, the little dragon’s dream shifted instantly.
Now, it found itself surrounded by towering icebergs, with the ground beneath a thick layer of ice.
The little dragon despised ice above all else, and being encircled by it made it restless.
As if sensing its mood, a massive dragon covered in shimmering silver scales appeared.
It lifted its head and roared to the heavens, “Little one, are you ready?”
The little dragon looked up at this giant, nearly as large as its own father—no, even larger—and its heart pounded wildly.
Before this colossal dragon, it felt as insignificant as an ant.
Father, your son misses you.
Unbeknownst to the little dragon, its father “missed” it terribly too—thinking of taking it home to give it a good spanking.
So many treasures had been taken by that big brat; how could he not be angry?
Mustering courage, the little dragon puffed out its chest and said, “Elder, your junior is ready.”
The giant dragon’s eyes twinkled with amusement at the little one’s respectful tone.
It seemed this little fellow had been thoroughly intimidated by its majestic presence.
The giant dragon nodded, then breathed out a blast of chilling frost toward the little dragon.
Quickly, the little dragon dodged.
Turning to look, it saw the frost condense into a new block of ice.
“Elder, aren’t you from the Silver Dragon clan? Why use icy frost? Aren’t Silver Dragons known for water magic?”
While evading, the little dragon couldn’t help but ask curiously.
The giant dragon snorted coldly and unleashed another volley of frost. The little dragon continued dodging and pressed on with its question.
“Hmph, that’s because they lack skill! Our Silver Dragons are masters of ice and frost magic,” the giant dragon answered proudly.
Seizing the moment while the dragon spoke, the little dragon flew behind it and unleashed a burst of fire.
However, before the flames could touch the giant dragon, the cold aura emanating from its body froze the fire solid.
Bang—
The frozen flames dropped straight to the ground, shattering into countless pieces.
The little dragon, thwarted in its sneak attack, cursed silently: Damn it!
