“Ugh, this is driving me crazy!”
Tinasia stormed into the living room, clutching the hair at her forehead. Moyuna and Ruby were both there, but neither paid any mind to the green-haired princess’s distress. They were busy squaring off over billiards, with Moyuna forbidden from using magic to cheat and Ruby not allowed to rely on her encyclopedic knowledge. At this point, only the black and white balls remained, and the game was evenly matched.

“Listen to me, this is seriously annoying.”
She was ignored, but that didn’t matter. Tinasia was not thick-skinned enough to win Moyuna’s approval right now. She walked over and tapped lightly on the billiard table; the balls bounced up from the vibration and she snatched them in her hand.

“I can’t hear you, go find your father,” Moyuna said grumpily, putting down her cue and pretending to be deaf. She wondered if she should have Ruby clean her ears for her; Ruby’s ear-cleaning skills were unparalleled!

“I can’t trouble Father with such trivial matters…”
The green-haired princess quickly summarized the situation: in the imperial capital, there was a pair of aristocrats who were so close they might as well share one pair of trousers. They decided to do something fun together—Aristocrat A wanted to open a bar for friends, Aristocrat B wished to open a bathhouse, the kind with female attendants.

Having cheerfully settled on their plan, the next step was choosing the land. There was no available space in Dawn District, where the nobles lived, so they set their sights on Sunrise District, right next door. The residents here weren’t the super wealthy, but neither were they ordinary civilians; they were notable merchants and magicians—a class of their own.

The two nobles wanted to buy up a five-hundred-meter radius of land to realize their grand dream, but obstacles arose. Naturally, some were willing to sell, some were not. One stubborn homeowner, an elderly magician in his seventies or eighties, refused to budge no matter the price. He owned a sprawling mansion right in the middle, and having lived there for so long, he wasn’t about to yield to the younger generation.

“Are they insane? Can’t they build separately?”
“The most comfortable thing, they say, is to enter a cozy bathhouse with lovely girls right after drinking fine wine. In other seasons it’s tolerable, but in winter, if you step outside, the cold wind blows away the warmth and the intoxication—what’s the point of playing then! Those are their exact words.”
Tinasia pinched her throat and imitated the nobles. The decadent tone was unmistakable, but she’d gotten used to it long ago and didn’t bother to comment. Nobles were inherently like this; as long as they didn’t break the law, she saw no issue.

“Why not build a teleportation array?”
“Not everyone’s like you. The Starry Night family’s magical arrays are outrageously expensive, you know that.”
“So how did this troublesome matter land on your head?”

“Because the feud between the two sides is escalating. I’m afraid the nobles might do something harmful to the old man, so I volunteered to resolve it.”
Tinasia was troubled. Nobles acted without thinking, and if they angered a magician, they’d likely lose their lives. The old man had lived so long, he wouldn’t mind taking them down with him. Either side dying was something Tinasia wanted to avoid.

“You? Demolishing houses is one thing, but what do you know about architecture?”
“Well, that’s true. Help, please!”
At last, Tinasia turned her gaze to Ruby. She didn’t know if Ruby could solve this mess, but asking Ruby for help had become a habit.

“Give me the map.”
“The map? Aren’t you going to visit the site?”
Tinasia handed over the map, puzzled. Ruby glanced at it twice, then went back to the desk and began scribbling. After ten minutes, he handed her a building design.

“What… is this?”
Tinasia couldn't read the plans, but she could make out the structure: two three-story rectangular buildings flanking the stubborn old man's house, and above that house a suspended passageway connecting the two structures.

“I got carried away. The internal design isn’t really my concern.”
Ruby realized all he needed to provide was the structural details, not the layout, room sizes, entrances, lobbies, or staircases. Occupational habit, he supposed.

“I’ll take this to them right away.”
Tinasia felt overwhelmed. She’d only needed a bit of practical advice from Ruby, but he’d gone and handled the whole thing from start to finish. Now she was convinced that if she gave Ruby a single cloud, he could build a house on it. For now, she’d suppress that thought and go deliver the plans.

“What’s wrong?”
Moyuna’s sullen expression caught Ruby’s attention; she seemed displeased that he’d helped Tinasia.

“It’s nothing.”
The sorceress could sense the foolish princess was starting to rely on Ruby, which was a bad omen. With knowledge from another world, she summarized it as: “I’m telling you, this is how you get screwed!”

In Moyuna’s imagination, the green-haired princess, intent on seducing Ruby, stayed busy until evening. Nobles and architects alike were astonished by the plans she brought, and the two aristocrats were so impressed with the detailed interior they immediately agreed to build accordingly. The old magician, the stubborn homeowner, had no objections either. And so, the problem was solved.

“Ruby, who are you really? You know medicine, write books, cook, create entertainment devices, and now architecture. Is there anything in this world you don’t know?”
“There is. I can’t use magic.”
“Besides magic?”
“There is. I can’t get pregnant.”
“Wait, can I hit him?”
Tinasia felt her intelligence insulted. His impassive face seemed to be deliberately provoking her, and she finally understood why Nana always punched him. Now she wanted to emulate Moyuna and give him a beating herself.

“No, you’d kill him.”
