Chapter Ninety-One: Look Carefully, Learn Well
"Teacher Ruby, please, I’m begging you!"
The next day, Sime repeated the same words in the same manner and from the same angle.
"What is it now?"
"Actually, I’ve liked a girl for a long time. I’ve always wanted a chance to confess my feelings to her, but taking her to the lakeside and making a confession under the glow of fireflies is just way too old-fashioned. Please teach me some original way to win a girl’s heart."
"Why do you think I’d know how to do something like that?"
"Because you’re always surrounded by girls, of course. The white-haired one, the pink-haired one—you might not know this, but you’re surprisingly popular with girls. After all, you’re the kind of person who can do anything."
Sime grinned as he spoke, and he was not entirely wrong. Some girls were drawn to novelty, and Ruby knew so many things, while being so gentle, that he rarely refused a request from a classmate. If Ruby had magical power, probably several of them would already have confessed to him.
"I happen to have a method that suits you, though it’s a bit difficult. I’ll help train you for a few days."
"To think you could come up with even something like that... Teacher, may I ask, is your training very strict?"
At Ruby’s signal, Sime leaned his ear closer. As he listened, his expression of surprise gradually turned into delight. But before he could even finish being happy, he suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of danger and asked Ruby timidly. Ruby only smiled without speaking, and then answered his question with devilishly grueling training.
Not long after, the second ball game at Rhine Magic Academy began once more. This time, Sime’s opponents were the second-year team, who also wanted to experience this novel sport. Ruby publicly declared that magic was forbidden, and also shortened the match to twenty minutes total; otherwise, these students would never have been able to endure to the end.
With one game already under their belts, the first-years were naturally far more skilled than the second-years. Although the other side defended tightly, in the final minute Sime still found his chance. He headed the ball, passed from a teammate, up to the proper height, then leaped into the air and, inverted with his head down and feet up, kicked the ball into the goal. The entire field was stunned by his move, and the students who had come out of curiosity to watch this sport all burst into applause.
"We won, w-we won!"
The moment the ball flew into the goal, Sime’s body landed back on the ground. He could hardly believe he had really done it. This was a true victory for their team, and enduring Ruby’s devilish training for so long had been worth it after all.
Overjoyed, Sime ran to each teammate in turn, slapping palms with them to celebrate. When he had finished, he walked up to the crowd, removed his outer jersey, and revealed the shirt beneath, soaked through with sweat.
[I love you, Elan. Please be my girlfriend!]
Sime spread his arms wide so everyone could see the words written on his shirt. The special magical powder had not been ruined by the sweat, and everyone could read the message clearly. The lovely girl named Elan even covered her mouth in astonishment.
What happened next hardly needs saying. A boy and a girl who had already felt mutual affection, after the boy had worked so hard to show himself before everyone and then boldly confessed his feelings, were simply not something many girls could resist.
"You taught him that?"
Magic Yuna felt a flicker of something in her heart as she looked at the newly minted couple embracing each other, and she could not help turning to Ruby and asking. Even without asking, it was obvious that such an exaggerated confession method had to have been Ruby’s idea.
"Yes."
"Could you do it?"
"Of course I could. If I did it, I’d kick the ball even more accurately and even better than Sime."
Ruby nodded with complete confidence. Though it could barely be called a goal, it still lacked polish, and he had already worked through several times in his mind how he would have scored if it had been him.
"Ha..."
Magic Yuna’s delicate brows knit ever so slightly. She looked at Ruby with a rather subtle expression, and only after staring at him until he began to feel uncomfortable did she open her mouth and let out a sigh.

P.S. Please collect and recommend this novel. I originally wanted to combine two chapters, but then I forgot... so this chapter is a little short, though it still has four thousand words.
P.S. Read carefully and learn well; the author is teaching you how to win a girl’s heart.
P.S. Thanks to the reader who tipped five hundred, and to the reader who tipped one hundred.
