Chapter 76: Truth or Dare (4)
After hearing Qian Yinyin’s words, Qiao Xi naturally wouldn’t foolishly dig herself into a hole and made her choice without hesitation.
“Truth.”
“Truth, huh?” Ji Niansheng seemed to be deliberately stalling, pondering the question and only speaking when everyone was growing impatient. “When was your first kiss?”
“Do we really have to be that direct with the first question? Be careful, you might scare people off,” Qian Yinyin remarked.
“If she was that easily scared, she wouldn’t be Qiao Xi,” Ji Niansheng replied, unconcerned.
Qiao Xi looked up, her gaze unintentionally meeting Ouyang’s eyes.
She paused, quickly looking away.
After another moment, she answered, “…April Fool’s Day.”
“Oh?”
“Wow!”
Gu Panxi and Qian Yinyin exclaimed in surprise at the same time.
Ouyang watched Qiao Xi, but she didn’t look back at him.
“What a special day. Who was it with?” Ji Niansheng pressed.
“Idiot, that’s already the second question,” Wang Xiaowei said, tossing a bottle at him.
“Alright, let’s move on to the second round,” Ji Niansheng said, unfazed—after all, there would be more chances to ask.
This time, Ouyang drew the joker, while Shan Chouchou got the king of spades.
“Ha! Let’s see if you get off easily this time!” Ji Niansheng grinned, not believing Shan Chouchou would be as gentle as a kitten and let Ouyang off the hook. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth,” Ouyang replied.
Shan Chouchou thought for a moment, uncertain what to ask, but in the end decided to help Qiao Xi with a question, though she wasn’t sure if it would actually help.
So she asked, “Does the Vice President have a girlfriend?”
“Why don’t you just ask who his girlfriend is!” Ji Niansheng exclaimed.
“What if the Vice President doesn’t have a girlfriend?” Qian Yinyin pointed out.
“But he might have someone he likes,” Gu Panxi said, glancing at Qiao Xi.
“If you want to say something, just say it. Why are you looking at Qiao Xi?” Wang Xiaowei, still clueless to the gossip, asked.
“Oh, don’t be so obvious about it.”
“Is it really that obvious? Why am I the only one who doesn’t get it?”
“You really are slow,” Qian Yinyin said, unable to contain herself.
“Let’s let the Vice President answer first,” Shan Chouchou interjected.
Ouyang glanced at Qiao Xi, but she never once looked his way.
“No.”
As soon as he answered, everyone’s eyes shifted to Qiao Xi, but she remained calm and serene.
“Why are you all looking at Qiao Xi again?” Wang Xiaowei, still out of the loop, asked once more.
“Well, isn’t it obvious…” Ji Niansheng glanced at Ouyang, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret, “There’s something suspicious about them.”
“Suspicious?” The ‘innocent’ Wang Xiaowei pondered. “You mean they’re together?”
“He just said he doesn’t have a girlfriend—where were your ears?” Gu Panxi said in exasperation.
“Not having a girlfriend doesn’t mean he doesn’t like someone,” Qian Yinyin added.
“Alright, alright, next round. Who knows, maybe Ouyang will get the joker again—then you can ask him directly,” Ji Niansheng said.
Unfortunately, this time he drew the joker himself, and Qiao Xi got the king of spades.
“Do you dare pick ‘dare’?” Qian Yinyin challenged.
Ji Niansheng frowned at the joker in his hand, gritted his teeth, and said, “Fine, dare it is.”
He didn’t think Qiao Xi would be the type to set a difficult challenge, but this time he miscalculated. Qiao Xi still remembered that it was because of his bet that she was now being pestered by Yu Fan. She harbored no desire for revenge, but since fate had handed her this opportunity, there was no way she would let him off easily.
